Artificial turf extends over the upper surface and alongside each side surface. Elongate connectors extend through the foam core between the upper and lower surfaces and have opposite end regions projecting out of opposite sides of the foam core. These connectors may be rods or dowels with threaded end regions that pass through apertures in flaps of the artificial turf. Fasteners are screwed onto the threaded end regions of the dowels with the artificial turf inward of the fasteners to thereby cause the artificial turf to be urged toward and secured to the foam core.

    Abstract: An adaptive harness includes a neck girth loop and a torso girth loop. Each loop has lateral arcs on opposite sides of and extending in directions substantially parallel to a sagittal plane. Each of the lateral arcs has an adjustable length. The loops are connected to one another ventrally and dorsally. The harness further includes a tension force transfer path that extends circumferentially along the neck girth loop from a tension force redirector, or ring, on the neck girth loop in the sagittal plane through the lateral arcs of the neck girth loop. The harness further includes a tension force conduit, or strap, secured along the path. When a tension force is applied to the strap outwardly from the ring, such as the pulling of a leash attaching to a leash coupling on the strap, the lengths of the lateral arcs of the neck girth loop are shortened, resulting in a better fit of the harness to the subject.

    Abstract: An intake valve and a drain system are located in the lower portion of a stanchion or outer pipe which is preferably dimensioned so that these structures can be located below the frost line underground so as not to be subject to freezing. The intake valve structure includes a body which fits tightly within the stanchion and which has a central bore which receives, at its uppermost end, the lower end of the conduit. The lower end of the bore is fitted with threads or other convenient means for connecting a conduit representing a source of water which is under sufficient pressure to allow the water to rise in the stanchion conduit and fill the basin. The improvements to the prior art include a stand or stabilizing means to secure the city water vertical outlet port at least about four to six inches above the bottom of the outer pipe. This facilitates removal of the intake valve structure from the city water outlet port.
