  • Patent number: 11922644
Abstract: Described herein are examples of weld tracking systems implemented via a welding helmet. The welding helmet includes weld tracking sensors configured to allow the welding helmet to track a welding-type tool and/or an arc generated by the welding-type tool. The welding helmet also includes helmet tracking sensors configured to allow the welding helmet to track its own position and/or orientation relative to a reference point in the welding environment. By tracking itself as well as the welding-type tool and/or arc, the welding helmet can differentiate between its own movement, and movement of the welding-type tool and/or arc. By knowing the spatial relationship between the different sensors of the welding helmet, the tracking information can be combined and used for weld tracking. By implementing the weld tracking system in the welding helmet, the weld tracking system becomes portable and usable outside of the usual fixed confines of weld tracking systems.

  • Patent number: 11785229
Abstract: A further coding efficiency increase may be achieved if for a current block of a picture, for which the bit stream signals one of supported partitioning patterns, a reversal of the partitioning by block merging is avoided. In particular, if the signaled one of the supported partitioning patterns specifies a subdivision of the block into two or more further blocks, a removal of certain coding parameter candidates for all further blocks, except a first further block of the further blocks in a coding order, is performed. Particularly, those coding parameter candidates are removed from the set of coding parameter candidates for the respective further block, the coding parameters of which are the same as coding parameters associated with any of the further blocks which, when being merged with the respective further block, would result in one of the supported partitioning pattern. This avoids redundancy between partitioning coding and merging coding.

  • Patent number: 11558627
Abstract: Sketch copy mode may be used to code blocks comprising irregular lines, syntax redundancy may be removed from blocks with special characteristics, and/or run value coding may be simplified. The parsing dependencies in palette coding design may be removed. For example, the context modeling dependency of the syntax element palette_transpose_flag may be removed, for example, by simplifying the corresponding context model. The context modeling of the syntax element palette_mode may be removed, for example, by using run-length coding without using context. The syntax parsing dependencies and/or the syntax signaling dependencies that are related with escape color signaling may be removed. A palette table generation process may handle input screen content video with high bit depths, for example, at the encoder side.
