  • Patent number: 7392612
Abstract: A fishing chair mounts directly in the sandy bottom of a relatively shallow surf. A vacuum pump pulls a base pole down into the sand to form a sturdy foundation, even in rough surf conditions. A seat assembly is mounted at the upper end of the base pole. The chair mount may be fabricated from composite materials or plastic, such as PVC, to prevent corrosion. The chair mount is also provided with a foot rest or step that is braced against the base pole. The surf fishing chair is positioned above the waves under normal surf conditions, but also withstands larger wave impacts while safely supporting a fisherman in the seat structure. Other features include adjustable fishing pole holders, a tackle box, a bait box, a bait cutting surface, a fish net holder, and a fish stringer and basket.

  • Patent number: 7383660
Abstract: An insect trap having a rear cover attached to a wall which is connected to a separate and removable front cover. The front cover can be primarily round in shape with a plurality of slats and a shiny exterior appearance. An adhesive member, such as a sticky board, can be attached to the rear surface of the front cover. A light bulb is disposed within a ballast/socket member attached to the front of the rear cover. Once plugged in, light from the bulb is primarily and substantially retained within the trap by its capture in view of the rounded ends of the rear cover. The light illuminates the trap itself to attract insects to the area between the rear and front covers where the adhesive member is positioned.

  • Patent number: 7380367
Abstract: A snelled fly file for a fisherman to carry on their person is described. The file provides a fisherman instant identifiable and organized access to a snelled fly collection, thereby offering convenience and easily visible, instant selection. The two covers hold see-through bags of snelled flies within, each with identification cards whereby two flies can be held within each bag. The lanyard is preferably worn around the fisherman's neck, with instant open access to the flies within. The bags are removably contained between the two covers thereby allowing for the exchange of any bags of flies. This give a fisherman the ability to organize and retrieve his snelled flies as the fishing conditions may warrant.

  • Patent number: 7377072
Abstract: Bait stations are provided which present the ability to monitor bait and expand capacity of bait without materially adversely affecting feeding activity. In one form a slow acting toxicant-laced attractant is provided in the station. The station has an outer housing, an openable opaque lid, and a transparent window moveable relative to both the lid and housing. One can move the lid while leaving the window in place, or move both the lid and window. Removal of both permits attachment of a second such housing to the first, while the first remains in place. The lid and window can then be affixed to the second housing. These stations can be used to control termites and other crawling pests.

  • Patent number: 7334367
Abstract: A fishing rod includes an elongate shaft defining an interior space. A stop, a cocking rod, a firing rod, and an energizing element are mounted in the interior space. The cocking rod may transfer energy to the energizing element. A trigger attached to the cocking rod is selectively movable through an opening in the stop for releasing the energizing element's energy. A trigger release assembly proximate the trigger includes a ball bushing slidably coupled to the cocking rod and a button extending through the elongate shaft. A rod tip is included for selectively retaining an item of fishing tackle attached to a fishing line. Means are included for anchoring and locking the position of the fishing line. In use, energy is transferred to the energizing element and then selectively released to automatically cast the fishing line by swinging the rod in a traditional casting motion or by pushing a button.

  • Patent number: 7322144
Abstract: An apparatus and method for animating waterfowl decoys to imitate diving, dabbling, and feeding of live waterfowl. An ordinary decoy is attached by a self retractable line device with a locking mechanism to a spool on the shaft of the submersible motorized mechanism. When the submersible motorized mechanism is activated the shaft of the mechanism turns the spool attached to the shaft and winds up the line attached to the decoy causing at least a portion of the decoy to be pulled below the surface of the water. The submersible motorized mechanism has a portable power supply and is attached to a timer mechanism, which subsequently controls the length of time the submersible motorized mechanism is either on or off. The apparatus can also be operated using a remote control. The battery power source, the timer mechanism and the remote control mechanism are housed in a watertight container. A submersible motorized mechanism is attached to the exterior of the watertight housing.

  • Patent number: 7318295
Abstract: The invention is a fishing pole with an integrated line tension measuring device. Measured line tension is displayed in quantitative units, pounds or kilograms. A line tension warning system activates when the sensed line tension exceeds a threshold set by the fisherman. The line tension measuring device does not touch the fishing line so the fishing pole with integrated line tension measuring device fishes and operates like a normal fishing pole. The line tension measuring device may be integrated into the fishing reel seat which, in turn, is an integral part of the fishing pole.

  • Patent number: 7310905
Abstract: The present invention relates to a controllable fishing lure. The lure is remotely controlled by the angler by a radio control transmitter on the fishing rod or proximate thereto. The lure can be steered by depressing buttons on the radio control transmitter. The depressions cause radio signals to be emitted from the transmitter, these signals corresponding to the movements desired by depressing the buttons. The radio signals from the transmitter are then received by a receiver, through an antenna, in the lure. The received signals are then processed by a controller that activates propellers, disposed on the lateral sides of the lure, whereby the lure is steered to the desired location in the water.

  • Patent number: 7310908
Abstract: A user activated insect bait station particularly adapted for use with a flowable bait, including attractants and toxicants is disclosed. The bait station is formed as a sealed container fabricated from two primary parts, an upper portion and a lower portion sealingly connected along common peripheral edges. The bait station includes first and second chambers in fluid communication for containing the bait. The user forms an opening in the bait station to expose the bait in the first chamber to the atmosphere while providing access to the bait for ants. The bait station further defines a recessed groove that provides a pathway leading to the second chamber opening. A top cover is provided for shielding the bait station opening while providing access to the opening.
