Patent number: 4149887Abstract: A micro-capsular material for use as a photographic reproducing medium includes a plurality of micro-capsules distributed over a given surface. Each of the capsules is formed with a mantle of light transmissive material. The mantles may be clear or colored and are advantageously transparent. The contents of each of the capsules includes a photoconductive material as well as a color progenitor or precursor material. Simultaneous exposure of the capsular material to light and high frequency electrical energy causes rupture of the capsule mantles and release of the capsular contents. When an image is focused by a lens onto the surface, selected ones of said capsules are ruptured to thereby result in a reproduction of the image. Dispersing micro-capsules having different color progenitor materials makes possible color photography when means are provided for selectively directing only those component of colored light onto the micro-capsules having corresponding color progenitor materials.Type: GrantFiled: August 23, 1974Date of Patent: April 17, 1979Inventor: Sidney Levy

Patent number: 4146395Abstract: A process is disclosed of forming a reversal dye image. This is accomplished by developing an imagewise exposed photographic element with a black-and-white developer and poisoning the developed silver as a redox amplification catalyst for a peroxide oxidizing agent. The undeveloped silver is then rendered developable to form a silver catalyst image pattern. This latter silver image pattern is then used to catalyze the redox reaction of a peroxide oxidizing agent and a dye-image-generating reducing agent, such as a color-developing agent, or a redox dye-releaser.Type: GrantFiled: October 13, 1977Date of Patent: March 27, 1979Assignee: Eastman Kodak CompanyInventor: Vernon L. Patent number: 4146394Abstract: A method of predicting the filter pack correction required to print a color ilm that has been exposed at any illuminant color temperature is provided without the need for a grey card in the scene. This method involves first the experimental determination of the correction filter pack required to produce a grey print from any of the following: the clear unexposed portion of the negative, an image of a continuous wedge or step tablet exposed at a known color temperature on a sensitometer, or the image of a grey card on a roll of film that was exposed at a known color temperature. The red, blue, and green densities of the grey card, or a particular exposure on the characteristic curve, are added to the densities of the correction filter pack to obtain a value called the Total Negative Grey. In the case of the clear portion of the negative, a correction factor of 0.02 green and 0.13 blue must be added to the base fog densities before the densities of the filter pack are added.Type: GrantFiled: March 4, 1975Date of Patent: March 27, 1979Assignee: The United States of America as represented by the Secretary of the ArmyInventors: Marilyn Levy, Milan Schwartz
