Abstract: A flexible composite pipe for transporting a high-temperature fluid of the invention has an inner pipe for passing a high-temperature, high-pressure fluid therethrough, a reinforcing layer formed around the inner pipe, and a protective sheath layer formed around the reinforcing layer. The inner pipe consists of a material which is selected from a polyvinylidene fluoride copolymer resin, a blend thereof with a polyvinylidene fluoride resin, or a composition based on the polyvinylidene fluoride copolymer resin and which has, when hot pressed into a sheet, an Izod impact strength of 10 kg-cm/cm or more and an apparent Young's modulus in tension of 90 kg/mm.sup.2 or less.

Abstract: An improved sprayhead for group washfountains of the type having several washing stations positioned around a sprayhead located over a single bowl. The washfountain has a hollow sprayhead having an exterior wall which holds not only the nozzles but also a soap reservoir and hand actuated buttons. The valves which supply water to the nozzles are preferably positioned in the pedestal below the bowl of the washfountain.

Abstract: A back washer and massager supported on a shower wall or bathtub and includes a pad of foam plastic with a waterproof cover and a rigid backing plate supported by a plurality of suction cups with a terry cloth or similar fabric cover mounted on the pad to enable easy removal for laundering and the like with the cover for the pad including a pocket on the interior surface thereof to receive soap positioned in a net bag so that a person taking a shower or bath can position their back or any other inaccessible area of their body against the surface of the terry cloth or other fabric cover and by moving the body area engaged with the cover provide a washing or massaging function on the surface area of the body.

Abstract: A double-wall tube for a heat exchanger and method for producing same, the tube being formed by two tubular walls (1, 2) mounted one inside the other with a very small clearance (3)and then made to have a tight fit therebetween, the outer surface of the inner wall (2) and the inner surface of the outer wall (1) being interconnected by a thin layer of brazing metal in regions (4) which are discontinuous both in the circumferential direction and in the longitudinal direction of the tube. The brazed regions (4) represent 5 to 15% of the confronting surfaces of the inner wall (2) and outer wall (1) of the tube. The invention is in particular applicable to steam generators of fast neutron nuclear reactors.

Abstract: A surfing wave pool assembly has a construction so that a continuous front breaking, surfing wave is established. This permits body surfers or surfboards to surf on the forward edge of this advancing wave for most of the length of a pool. The continuous wave front is established by the rapid discharge of water from an elevated reservoir into the deep end of the pool over a reef. A substantial amount of water in the entire assembly is saved by utilizing an elevated floor in the reservoir and a restricted area conduit from the elevated reservoir to openings at the deep end of the pool. The elevated reservoir establishes a sufficiently high head of water to create a surfing wave, yet the elevated floor and the restricted area conduit means substantially limit the volume of water in the assembly required to create the surfing wave.

Abstract: A sink strainer having a hollow strainer body with an open upper end and an outlet portion at the lower end thereof in which is carried an outlet drainage plate. A basket strainer is operatively mounted in the strainer body and it is movable between an open position and a closed position. A permanent magnet means is provided to assist the water in a sink to create of a strong sealing action between the basket strainer and the strainer body outlet plate when the basket strainer is in the closed position.

Abstract: An eye wash fountain device in which eye wash nozzles are attached to a unit which is separate from and removably attached to a conduit on an adapter for attachment to water supply, the adapter being provided with a valve to divert normal water flow to the conduit and to the nozzles. The conduit and the nozzles being positioned rearwardly of the water supply in order to project a spray from a position behind the water supply, to protect a user against direct contact with the nozzles.The flow of water to the nozzles is controllled by a restriction in the conduit leading from the adapter and the spray from the nozzles is modified by the insertion of a plurality of steel balls adjacent the nozzle exits.

Abstract: A tube bundle, suitable for the transportation of gas from a subsea wellhead, comprises (a) an insulated external casing, (b) an internal production line for gas, moisture and possibly oil or condensate and (c) an internal tube for carrying a heating medium through the bundle to its wellhead end. The heating tube has a tapered or stepped layer of insulating material with the insulation increasing in thickness in the direction away from the wellhead.The combination of heating and carefully designed insulation is particularly effective in preventing hydrate formation in the gas line.

Abstract: A removable swimming pool cover characterized by a plastic sheet or thermal blanket which floats on the surface of the water and is retained in position by a number of telescoping, spring loaded rods which are positioned between opposing sides of the pool is provided. The telescoping rods may also be provided with a locking handle which, when in the locked position, expands the rods lengthwise thus forcing the ends of the rods against the opposing sides of the pool to prevent removal.

Abstract: A kitty box is provided for use in the home, camper or van. The kitty box allows pets to perform their excretory functions inside during times of confinement. Cats and small dogs can be trained to perform their excretory functions atop the kitty box. Solid feces stay on top of a screen platform which lifts off for easy cleaning. Urine passing through the screen platform is caught by a funnel which in turn empties into a urine container. The urine container is conveniently lifted out of the kitty box for ease of cleaning. Abstract: The present invention is a pocket cuspidor which is simple, sanitary and convenient for containerizing oral secretions. Tobacco juice, spitum and other oral secretions are expectorated through a mouthpiece into a small portable container. Pressing a thumb tab simultaneously opens a mouthpiece valve and a vent valve, allowing spitum to enter the container and air, displaced by spitum, to escape. Releasing the thumb tab closes both valves, sealing the container. The small sealed container may be carried conveniently in clothing and handbags. The apparatus includes a container and removable top.

Abstract: An example of an elastomeric article embodying the invention is a composite, reinforced, vulcanized elastomeric hose, which includes a tube, an outer cover, a reinforcement layer, and a specially compounded interlayer interposed either between the tube and the reinforcement or the cover and the reinforcement. The inner tube (or in some applications, the cover) is composed of either a fluoroelastomer, fluoroplastic, polypropylene, polyvinylchloride, chlorinated polyethylene, or acrylonitrile polymer. The compounded polychloroprene interlayrer effects a strong bond to these materials. The tube and the cover are composed of materials not readily bondable to each other. The polychloroprene interlayer forms a strong bond to those layers it is in contact with when vulcanized.

Abstract: An arrangement for winding a web on a roll core or the like in a support drum winder, which comprises a first and a second support drum, a web cutter, transfer means for the transfer of a complete wound roll from said support drums, supply means for the supply of a new roll core and guide and retainer devices for governing a web trail end and a front end formed by an engagement of the cutter with the web. The governing is carried out until a supplied core retains said web front end against the first support drum. The arrangement comprises means for a free new core supply from a location above the support drums in a position therebetween. The supply is carried out preferably by the free fall action and during the transfer of the complete roll. The retainer devices comprise retainer members separate from the first drum. These retainer members generate a force action against said first support drum.

When a switch is manually operated, a first setting control sets the energization amount of the cleaning water discharger and/or the additional apparatus to a first set value. When a second setting control is manually operated, the energization amount is changed to a second set value set by the second setting control. When a human body detector is turned off, the energization amount is returned from the second value to the first value.
