  • Patent number: 4698065
Abstract: Stabilized liquid preparations for oxidation hair dyes are provided. The oxidation hair dyes comprise oxidation hair dye precursors and an aqueous or aqueous-alcoholic carrier, containing (A) from 5 to 20% by weight of fatty acid water-soluble soap and (B) from 0.5 to 10% by weight of a water-soluble cationic polymer. The oxidation hair dyes (containing a soap and cationic polymer which tend towards inhomogeneity) are stabilized by the addition of from 5 to 30% by weight of a compound selected from the group consisting of: (C) aliphatic or alicyclic C.sub.9 -C.sub.44 dicarboxylic acid water-soluble salts; and (D) amines corresponding to the following general formula ##STR1## .

  • Patent number: 4678475
Abstract: A dialkyl quaternary ammonium compound falling within the formula ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are the same or different straight chain alkyl radicals C.sub.n H.sub.2n+1 wherein n is predominantly at least 12, and particularly where n equals predominantly 12-16, unexpectedly prevents Ext. D & C Violet No. 2 dye from staining skin while providing better deposition of the Ext. D & C Violet No. 2 onto human hair and wool to decrease or eliminate hair and wool yellowing. These fatty radicals R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are generally derived from coconut oil, lauric acid, myristic acid, or palmitic acid and An.sup.- is any anion, particularly the halogen ions and particularly the chloride ion.

  • Patent number: 4668237
Abstract: The invention relates to a composition for dyeing keratinic fibres, especially human hair, which contains 5-nitrovanillin of formula: ##STR1## in an aqueous, alcoholic or hydroalcoholic carrier. This yellow nitro dye makes it possible to obtain stable shades having good light- and shampoo-resistance when it is used by itself or in combination with blue or violet nitrobenzene dyes, and optionally with other direct dyes.

  • Patent number: 4666453
Abstract: The invention relates to compounds of formula ##STR1## in which X denotes a halogen atom, and R and R' denote a hydrogen atom, an alkyl, polyhydroxyalkyl, hydroxyalkoxyalkyl or alkoxyalkyl radical or an aminoalkyl radical optionally substituted on the nitrogen atom provided that at least one of the groups R and R' is a polyhydroxyalkyl, alkoxyalkyl or hydroxyalkoxyalkyl radical, and to dye compositions for keratinic fibres in which they are employed, to the preparation process and to intermediates.

  • Patent number: 4661281
Abstract: A free-flowing washing powder of low specific gravity (powder density 300 to 500 g/l) and containing large quantities of nonionic surfactants is produced by spray-drying an aqueous suspension containing on the spray-dried basis (A) from 15 to 30% by weight of nonionic tensides, (B) from 8 to 18% by weight of sodium silicate, (C) from 25 to 55% by weight of finely crystalline zeolite, (D) from 0 to 25% by weight of sodium tripolyphosphate, (E) no more than 3% by weight of soap and synthetic anionic tensides, and from 35 to 50% by weight of water. The suspension, which has a temperature of from 75.degree. C. to 90.degree. C., is sprayed through nozzles into a drying zone under a pressure of from 35 to 100 bar. The drying gas flowing in countercurrent has an entry temperature of from 160.degree. C. to 240.degree. C. and an exit temperature of from 80.degree. C. to 95.degree. C. The spray-dried product contains from 9 to 16% by weight of water which is removable at a drying temperature of 130.degree. C.
