  • Patent number: 10143057
Abstract: A board-mounted parallel circuit structure with efficient power utilization includes a first substrate, a first constant voltage layer and a second constant voltage layer. The first and second constant voltage layers are connected to a power supply respectively through two power connection points. The first constant voltage layer has at least one insulating zone. Each insulating zone has a light-emitting unit formed therein. One electrode of the light-emitting unit is connected to the first constant voltage layer, and the other electrode thereof is connected to the second constant voltage layer through a conducting wire. When the power supply outputs a low voltage to the first constant voltage layer, resistance values everywhere on the first constant voltage layer are identical. Accordingly, given any distance between a light-emitting unit and a corresponding power connection point, lighting efficiency of the light-emitting unit is not affected and effective power utilization can be ensured.

  • Patent number: 10129946
Abstract: A solid-state lighting system includes a light-emitting device connected in series with a variable dim setting resistor, an adjustable regulator, and a current sensor disposed in a feedback loop between an adjust input of the adjustable regulator and the variable dim setting resistor. The voltage dropped across the variable dim setting resistor is forced to remain constant irrespective of the resistance setting of the dim setting resistor. The current sensor measures or senses the current flowing through the variable dim setting resistor and causes the adjustable regulator to adjust its output voltage and the forward voltage drop across the light-emitting device so that the current flowing through the light-emitting device matches the current set by the variable dim setting resistor. Controlling the current in this manner allows dimming to be performed over an extremely wide dimming range, to very low light levels, and without producing light flicker at any dim level.

  • Patent number: 10104736
Abstract: A method controls a light barrier where light is emitted from an optical transmitter to an optical receiver. The method checks whether reception levels fall below a lower threshold or exceed an upper threshold to determine whether the light barrier is interrupted. The thresholds initially are adjusted based on a predetermined minimum reception level, with each threshold being a fraction of the minimum reception level. An allowable reception level range is defined between the minimum level and a predetermined saturation level. The method checks whether the current reception level is outside the allowable reception level range, and, if this is the case, calibrates a parameter for operating the optical transmitter based on the minimum reception level and/or the saturation reception level. The parameter is calibrated by calculating a gradient of one characteristic curve of the light barrier and readjusting the parameter to a target value calculated based on the gradient.
