Patent number: 4889471Abstract: In a scroll compressor, an open end of an oil extraction pipe which is placed in oil stored in a bottom portion of a hermetic casing is positioned at a location higher than an open end of an oil suction pipe that opens in the same stored oil, and a thermostat is provided for sensing a temperature rise of a compressed gas to cause the compressor to be stopped. Accordingly, even when an amount of oil injected into the compressed gas decreases, an amount of oil necessary for lubrication of a bearing portion is assured. The provision of the thermostat enables the compressor to be stopped before an amount of supply of the lubrication oil to the bearing portion has decreased. It is, accordingly, possible to positively prevent burning of the bearing portion of a crankshaft.Type: GrantFiled: July 7, 1988Date of Patent: December 26, 1989Assignee: Hatachi, Ltd.Inventors: Yasushi Izunaga, Hiroaki Kuno, Shintaro Sado

Patent number: 4886425Abstract: A capacity control device controls an amount of fluid bypassed from a compression chamber formed between contacts of a stationary and revolving spiral elements into a suction chamber by an actuator. The capacity control device provides a feedback mechanism in which a relation between a suction pressure of the compressor and a pressure of actuating the actuator is a function of the first degree and controls the suction pressure to be constant. A capacity control amount of the compressor can be determined only by the suction pressure of the compressor independent of other variation factors. Accordingly, the minimum suction pressure can be restricted strictly and frost control can be attained by the compressor itself.Type: GrantFiled: March 25, 1988Date of Patent: December 12, 1989Assignee: Mitsubishi Jukogyo Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Tsutomu Itahana, Tetsuo Ono, Tamio Sugimoto

Patent number: 4877380Abstract: Adjustable valve bodies are used on the outlet side for controlling the internal volume of a rotary compressor. External control means, often of an extremely complicated nature, have been used to control the internal volume in the rotary compressor. By allowing the different pressure levels of the rotary compressor directly influence a control section (1), the position of the valve body (3) can be controlled by an operating section (2). In the control section a spring pressure and a medium pressure (9) from the compressor are balanced by a plunger (6) against a pressure from the high-pressure side (19) of the compressor. The position of the plunger (6) then determines control of the internal volume via the setting of the valve body (3) connected to the operating device (2).Type: GrantFiled: March 2, 1988Date of Patent: October 31, 1989Assignee: Stal Refrigeration ABInventor: Rune Glanvall
