Abstract: A bottom aquarium filter for an aquarium tank including a substantially cylindrical container having an inwardly directed concave forward wall. A grill wall removably coupled onto the concave forward wall and defining therewith an inlet chamber. A removable L-shaped insert member includes a substantially circular perforated platform wall and an upstanding convex partition wall. The platform wall spacedly sits on the bottom of the container and defines with the container a filtration chamber above the platform and a clear water chamber beneath the platform. The partition wall mates in opposition against a rear peripheral section of the circular wall of the container and defines therewith an air lift chamber. A removable cover mounts onto the container and includes a mouth aligned with the air lift chamber. The cover serves to retain all of the members in unitary assembly.
Abstract: A filter apparatus, particularly for filtering extruded thermoplastic synthetic plastics material, has a housing, within which two carrier members are shiftably arranged, each of which carries a sieve means consisting of two filter sieves. The material to be filtered is supplied to the entry side of the sieve means via an inlet passage. Within each carrier member there is provided a rinsing passage being in connection with the outlet side of the sieve means. The rinsing passage can be connected with the outlet passage when shifting the carrier member into a rinsing position. In this rinsing position, the entry side of the sieve means is at least partially connected with a space receiving the sieve contaminations or opens into atmopshere, respectively.

Abstract: A resilient compressor ball is compressed to urge an axially-movable circular knife-edge onto one end of a cylindrical filter element to form a seal therewith and to urge the filter element onto a fixed circular knife-edge having a fluid outlet opening therewithin to form a seal therewith. The movable knife-edge is concentrically formed on an axially-slidable tubular compressor element which confines the compressor ball within a hollow nut portion of a cap which is screwed onto a cylindrical shell having a base from which the fixed knife-edge extends in axial alignment with the movable knife-edge. When the cap is screwed onto the shell, the compression of the ball urges the movable knife edge against one end of the filter and the other end of the filter against the fixed knife-edge so as to seal the ends of the filter element and thus the seals formed at the knife-edges, while accommodating variances in the overall length of the filter element from its nominal length.
