  • Patent number: 7363788
Abstract: A latch assembly having at least one control element having a first path of motion in which a ratchet is moved to an unlatched position and a second path of motion in which the ratchet is not so moved, the path of motion taken by the control element dependent upon whether an engagement element is engaged with the control element or disengaged therefrom. Preferably, the control element moves the ratchet by contact with a pawl which itself can be engaged with the ratchet. In a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the control element can be partially or fully actuated through its second path of motion while still being engagable with its engagement element. If already partially or fully actuated through its second path of motion, the engagement element is preferably movable into contact with the control element and can move the control element to its first path of motion.

  • Patent number: 7159423
Abstract: A motorcycle helmet lock securely grasps a metal strap ring (or D ring) of a helmet strap to prevent helmet theft. The helmet lock includes a groove suitable to accept the strap ring and a locking bolt to advance through the strap ring to secure the helmet. The lock may be an integral part of a motorcycle grip or foot peg, may bolt to a common accessory attachment interface of known motorcycle grips, or include an expanding portion which expands inside a tubular handlebar end to attach the helmet lock. The lock may further be used on any type of vehicle using handlebars for foot pegs.

  • Patent number: 7107801
Abstract: An anti-theft locking device for vehicles includes an annular locking sleeve mounted concentrically about and normally in frictional engagement with the vehicle steering shaft. The locking sleeve includes a body portion having a serpentine cross-sectional configuration, thereby defining on the inner periphery of the sleeve a plurality of alternate smooth convex projections and concave valleys. The convex projections are in frictional engagement with the circumferential surface of the steering shaft by a predetermined frictional force that is greater than the rotational torque force produced during normal steering operation of the vehicle. A plurality of circumferentially spaced teeth extend radially outwardly from the locking sleeve, thereby to define between the teeth a plurality of locking slots one of which is arranged to receive the free extremity of the locking arm of a locking device.
