Abstract: A cable exercise device incorporating a force resistance assembly, an elongated flexible cable, and a moveable exercise implement. The force resistance assembly comprises a mounting frame, a rotatable axle operatively supported by the mounting frame, a cable spool carried by the axle, and a magnetic braking device operatively connected to the cable spool. The magnetic braking device comprises an eddy current braking system incorporating a flywheel and magnet. The flexible cable is attached to the force resistance assembly, and is adapted for winding on and unwinding from the cable spool. The movable exercise implement is secured to the flexible cable, and is adapted for being employed by a user performing an exercise.
Abstract: An exercise apparatus for exercising core muscles of a user, the exercise apparatus comprising: a base; at least two support beams extending from the base and adapted to receive an exercise ball; a support stem extending substantially vertically from the base; a leg support bar located at a distal end of the support stem and disposed substantially horizontally with respect to the base; a first locking pad disposed at a proximal end of the leg support bar adapted to engage a posterior surface of the user's knees; and a second locking pad disposed at a distal end of the leg support bar adapted to engage an anterior surface of the user's lower leg.
Abstract: A martial arts sensitivity and speed training device and method is provided. The training device may be a midi tongue drum wing chun dummy adapted to play sounds when the dummy is impacted by a practitioner. The dummy enables practitioners to practice dangerous techniques without the aid of human person and also increase their familiarity, sensitivity, speed and accuracy with striking acupuncture and related pressure points on the body of a human person.
Abstract: A new and useful improvement in starting blocks and starting block anchoring devices for use at the line of start of a track either indoors or outdoors. The inventive starting block anchor is comprised of a vacuum suction device operatively and releasably attaches to an interface that also operatively and releasably attaches to a track and field starting block of various configurations.
Abstract: According to the invention there is provided an improved weightlifting aid and method of use thereof, comprising: a barbell supporting block element; and a plurality of barbell contacting arrangements for attaching different sides of the block element to a barbell; in which the one or more barbell contacting arrangements are releasably connectable to the barbell; so as to secure the block element to the barbell above the chest of a user performing a bench press exercise, the block element being of adjustable height depending on which part of the block element is attached to the barbell.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a catheter or cannula system that facilitates cardiopulmonary bypass surgeries and enables prolonged circulatory support of the heart. More specifically, the present invention provides an aortic catheter system including a porous aortic root balloon capable of occluding the aorta, delivering cardioplegia and providing tactile feedback and helping to maintain the competency of regurgitant aortic valves.

Abstract: A tip for a liquefracture surgical handpiece. The tip uses at least two channels or tubes. One tube is used for aspiration and at least one other tube is used to inject heated surgical fluid for liquefying a cataractous lens. The distal portion of the injection tube terminates just inside of the aspiration tube and directs the heated fluid through an orifice in the wall of the aspiration tube opposite the injection tube. The handpiece may also contain other tubes, for example, for injecting relatively cool surgical fluid.
