Patent number: 7213509Abstract: A method for handling scrap tires, includes a step of providing a compacting apparatus to a scrap tire generator, such as a tire retailer. Before compacting the tires, the tire can be marked with a unique identifier assigned to every tire generator. By marking the scrap tires with a unique identifier, the scrap tires can be tracked on their way to the final destination. The compacting apparatus provides volume reduction of the scrap tires individually into a form that can have a reduction of at least fifty percent of original cubic volume. The tires can be pinched to maintain the compacted tire in the compacted form and prevent the compacted tire from regaining its original shape. The compacted scrap tires can be accumulated inside a tire collection enclosure, such as a trailer or dumpster. The collected tires can be transported with much more weight efficient loads of the tires to a transfer station, a recycling facility, or an end user.Type: GrantFiled: May 24, 2004Date of Patent: May 8, 2007Assignee: PHD, LLCInventors: Fred G. Patent number: 7210506Abstract: The cycle counter is incorporated in a cable tie tool and provides an accurate count of the number of cable ties cut by the tool. The cycle counter includes a sensor which detects the displacement of the blade of the cable tie tool required to sever the strap of the cable tie. Alternatively, the sensor detects the condition of a component of the cable tie tool which indicates that the tool has cut the strap of a cable tie. The sensor generates a cut signal indicating that the strap of a cable tie has been cut. The cycle counter further includes summing devices for processing the cut signals and generating additional signals for transmission to a display device. The display device communicates to an operator the total number of cable ties severed by the cable tie tool. The display device also communicates to the operator the total number of selected cable ties severed by the cable tie tool.Type: GrantFiled: February 11, 2005Date of Patent: May 1, 2007Assignee: Thomas & Betts International, Inc.Inventor: Joey D. Patent number: 7204187Abstract: Disclosed is a device for tensioning and sealing tightening straps of plastics for package tightenings, in which the superposed strap ends are received in a strap channel which is essentially open at a longitudinal outer side and the two faces. The strap channel has a strap edge guide at its longitudinal inner side for the inner edges of the tightening strap. A tensioning device is arranged in the front region of the device, and a sealing device is arranged in the rear region. So as to compensate for the forces acting outwardly on the upper strap end due to the irregular deformations of the upper strap end during the tensioning process by the tensioning roller of the tensioning device which is mounted in a floating manner, the strap edge guide is arranged obliquely to the tensioning direction of the tensioning roller and projects further into the strap channel in the vicinity of the strap sealing device than in the region of the tensioning device.Type: GrantFiled: September 12, 2002Date of Patent: April 17, 2007Assignee: Cyklop GmbHInventors: Leo Zeimetz, Detlef Scholl, Peter Nober

Patent number: 7204439Abstract: Efficient process control of a rotary breaker is dependent upon the rate at which aggregate material is delivered to the rotary breaker. An improved pre-screening apparatus provides enhanced control of the amount of undersized material allowed to bypass the rotary breaker, thus allows some control of feed rate other than the upstream mining conditions. Further, a variable speed drive mechanism allows for enhanced control of the breaking process occurring within the rotary breaker. These improvements allow for the increase in maximum feed rate to an existing rotary breaker or allows for the installation of smaller and more economical original equipment. In addition, an improved discharge mechanism is provided to increase the discharge rates of a breaker without varying size or speed of rotation. These improvements allow for advanced automated process control.Type: GrantFiled: June 21, 2004Date of Patent: April 17, 2007Inventor: Larry Fuller

Patent number: 7204275Abstract: An existing tying machine (20) is modified by the addition of components to produce a self contained automatic laundry tie-out station (210). The components for the modification include a linear slide support yoke frame (22), attached on top of the component mounting platform (24) having a pneumatic linear slide unit (34) mounted on top. A hanger slide shaft assembly (220 or 220a) is attached to the linear slide unit which retains a selected group of hangers with laundered clothing (36?). Gravity conveyer feed lines are aligned with the hanger slide shaft (230) and a pneumatic system operates the slide unit with controls integrated into the tying machines existing electrical system. The hangers are drawn into the tying machine where they are bunched together and bound with a twist tie and then returned to the gravity laundry conveyer system. After the tying is completed a remote signal releases the bound hangers.Type: GrantFiled: April 7, 2006Date of Patent: April 17, 2007Inventors: Luis O. Contreras, Jack L. Hoffa
