  • Patent number: 11973807
Abstract: A connection procedure for data communications devices is implemented in a variety of embodiments. In one such embodiment, the procedure uses a first set of connection data for attempting to connect and upon failure to connect uses a second set of connection information in addition to the first set of connection information to attempt a connection. In another embodiment, a delay is implemented before transmitting the connection information and a subsequent delay is implemented to allow for additional connection information to be input and transmitted.

  • Patent number: 11963095
Abstract: The disclosure relates to a 5G or 6G communication system for supporting a higher data transmission rate. Methods and systems for handling network slice admission control for User Equipment (UE) are provided. The disclosure relates to network slicing and more particularly, to a system and method of ensuring that a communication system is able to accurately enforce quota on the maximum number of UEs concurrently registering for a network slice defined by a Single Network Slice Selection Assistance Information (S-NSSAI). The disclosure describes how the limits of “Number of Terminals” configured for an S-NSSAI may be accurately maintained in a Network Slice Admission Control Function (NSACF), and thus the enforcement may be performed when the limit is really exhausted. The disclosure also describes that a deregistration notification from a Unified Data Management (UDM) may act as a trigger for an old Mobility Management Function (AMF) to decrement counts in the NSACF as the old AMF is no longer serving the UE.

  • Patent number: 11962497
Abstract: Techniques disclosed herein provide a method and systems for installing routes by a route reflect (RR) device when the tunnel RIB of the RR device does not include any tunnel labels definitions. The unicast routing information base (RIB) of route reflector (RR) device is configured to include a next hop associated with a first network device. When the RR device receives a route from the first network device that comprises a tunnel label for reaching the second network device, the RR device resolves the next hop of the received route using the unicast RIB of the RR device. In response to the resolving, the RR device forwards the route to a third network device (e.g., identified by an export route target of the RR device).

  • Patent number: 11924100
Abstract: Techniques for using global virtual network instance (VNI) labels in a multi-domain network to route network data with a multi-tenant network overlay are described herein. A routing device provisioned in a network domain of the multi-domain network may register with a service discovery system of the network domain for use of network configuration data to establish routes through the multi-domain network with network nodes. Each network domain of the multi-domain network may include an application programming interface (API) server for processing API requests to make changes to configurations of a network domain. A border gateway protocol (BGP) large community may be utilized to encode global VNI labels, network addresses, local next hop nodes, and/or additional network information and sent to routing devices provisioned in separate network domains. A service chain may be signaled by global VNI labels to route network traffic through various services prior to reaching a destination endpoint.

  • Patent number: 11909671
Abstract: A system for facilitating efficient port reconfiguration at a switch is provided. During operation, the system can identify a target port of the switch for reconfiguration based on one or more reconfiguration parameters indicating how a set of logical ports are generated from the target port. The system can disable the target port at the control plane of the switch, which disables features provided to the target port from the control plane. The control plane can provide a set of features supported by the switch at a port-level granularity for facilitating operations of the switch. The system can then configure the forwarding hardware based on the reconfiguration parameters to accommodate the set of logical ports. When the reconfiguration of the target port is complete, the system can enable a respective logical port at the control plane, which enables one or more features for the logical port from the control plane.

  • Patent number: 11903044
Abstract: A network device may maintain a list of existing slice identifiers, associated with slices of a core network, that are in use in active UE sessions, and may receive a slice identifier associated with a slice of the core network and provided in a request to establish a session between a UE and the slice of the core network. The network device may determine whether the slice identifier matches an existing slice identifier included in the list, and may create a new network address, with an address of the network device and the slice identifier, based on the slice identifier failing to match an existing slice identifier included in the list. The network device may utilize the new network address to establish the session between the UE and the slice of the core network.

  • Patent number: 11895021
Abstract: A first network device sends a border gateway protocol (BGP) message to a second network device. The BGP message includes Ethernet virtual private network network layer reachability information (EVPN NLRI) and first information. The first information indicates a first maximum rate at which the second network device sends traffic to the first network device based on the EVPN NLRI. When the second network device sends the traffic to the first network device based on the EVPN NLRI, a first-type rate is less than or equal to the first maximum rate. According to the method in this application, less public network bandwidth is occupied, and overheads of the network device can be reduced.

  • Patent number: 11838149
Abstract: Disclosed methods define VLAN time slots for one or more VLANs within an HCI environment. A management resource may control virtual application access to each VLAN in accordance with the VLAN time slots wherein only one virtual application may connect to the VLAN during a VLAN time slot. Disclosed methods may define VLAN time slots for each of the plurality of virtual applications. The VLAN time slots may be defined dynamically, wherein durations of the VLAN time slots may be re-calculated each VLAN cycle. A duration of the VLAN time slot for a particular virtual application may be determined based on the number of packets transmitted by the virtual application during a previous VLAN cycle. Each VLAN time slot may include an active interval, for transmitting packets, and an inactive interval. Each active interval may include a fixed duration base interval and a variable duration dynamic interval.

  • Patent number: 11824780
Abstract: Described herein are systems, methods, and software to manage the selection of an edge gateway or edge for processing a packet. In one implementation, a first edge may receive a packet and hash addressing information in the packet to select a second edge to process the packet. The first edge may further forward the packet to the second edge, permitting the second edge to process the packet. Once processed, the second edge may forward the packet to a destination host computing system and notify the host computing system to use the second edge for response packets directed at a source internet protocol (IP) address in the packet.
