  • Patent number: 8624978
Abstract: The present invention is intended to manage a plurality of network cameras simply. The network camera management system comprises: a server for managing a plurality of cameras and controlling recording and/or displaying of an image captured by a camera; and a controller for instructing a management state of a camera on the server. By the operation of the controller, an image to be displayed is dynamically selected from images captured by the plurality of cameras according to the mode instructed by the controller. Thus, even if there are a large number of cameras, it is possible to display in such a form that it is intuitively easy to understand which camera's image is being displayed.

  • Patent number: 6956745
Abstract: A handling system for use with a blade is disclosed. The blade is within a computer system. The handling system comprises a chassis for holding the blade and a first handle member coupled to the chassis. The handling system includes a second handle member coupled to the chassis and being oppositely disposed to the first handle member. Finally, the handling system includes a latching mechanism which holds the first and second handle member in a retracted position when engaged therewith. The latching member when activated causes the first and second handle members to spring out to a point where the first and second handle members can be used to remove the chassis from the computer system. A method and system in accordance with the present invention limits the handling system profile dimensionally by providing a spring-loaded latching mechanism for the handle members. In so doing, a blade server system is provided that has a smaller footprint than conventional server systems.

  • Patent number: 6629862
Abstract: A telecommunications electrical connector positions the contacts in a manner to reduce crosstalk problems. An insert assembly positions the spring contacts within a jack for electrical contact with the contacts of a plug. The insert assembly staggers the relative positions of adjacent spring contacts in the y-direction, and staggers the spring contact pivot points in the x-direction, yet maintains a common contact region for all the spring contacts for contacting the contacts of the plug. The distal ends of alternating spring contacts are positioned so as to increase the isolation between adjacent springs. The insert assembly includes selected air passages between spring contacts mounted to the insert assembly to increase isolation and selected dielectric to increase crosstalk cancellation.

  • Patent number: 6629854
Abstract: In a structure of wiring connection, plate-like first to fourth wirings are typically used. A connecting portion of the first wiring is connected to that of the third wiring, and a connecting portion of the second wiring is connected to that of the fourth wiring. Each main portion of the first wiring and the second wiring runs together in parallel to face each main face thereof to the other, and that of the third wiring and the fourth wiring runs together in the same manner. Each elbow portion of the first wiring to the fourth wiring is defined as a portion between the main portion and the connecting portion thereof. Between any one of the first wiring to the fourth wiring and one of the other wirings, a specific distance defined as a distance between gravity centers in sections of two corresponding wirings of the first wiring to the fourth wiring cut along a plane vertical to each main face of the two corresponding wirings is less than the predetermined plate width of each of the two corresponding wirings.

  • Patent number: 6558172
Abstract: A shielding wire is bent in a bent shape and also is fixed in the bent shape by a housing. In the bent portion of the shielding wire, a core wire and a shielding layer are exposed by removing an outer coating and an inner insulating layer and also an insulating member, which may be heat-shrinkable, is interposed between the core wire and the shielding layer. When the insulating member is a heat-shrinkable member, an allowable bending radius of the shielding wire becomes smaller if the core wire is covered with the insulating member and bent before shrinkage, compared with the case of the core wire being bent together with the outer coating and the inner insulating layer. This results in miniaturization of the bent portion.

  • Patent number: 6554484
Abstract: An optical fiber connector adapter has a sensing mechanism for determining when the adapter has a connector plug therein and when the adapter is vacant or empty. The sensing mechanism creates an indication of the state of the adapter which is transmitted to a control circuit. The control circuit responds to the indication by activating or deactivating a laser, for example, which applies optical energy to the adapter. The laser is deactivated when the adapter has no connector plug therein and is activated when there is a connector plug in place in the adapter. In two of the embodiments of the invention, the sensing mechanism signals the impending insertion or withdrawal of the connector plug relative to the adapter.
