  • Patent number: 9221640
Abstract: The present application relates to techniques and equipment to stack mailpieces for sweeping. The mailpieces are manufactured on a mail processing machine such as, but not limited to an inserter or wrapper. More particularly, there is provided an on-edge conveyor where components have been ergonomically positioned to permit the filling of a mail tray in an efficient manner with minimal lifting of weight. A quantity of mailpieces that have already been offset can be pulled over the rolled/rounded edge of the conveyor into an awaiting mail tray supported on a roller conveyor. The operator is then able push the full tray to the side, load another empty tray, and repeat the process.

  • Patent number: 9162603
Abstract: A method of delivering proppant to a well site has the steps of transporting a load of proppant in a vessel to a desired location, moving the load of proppant from the vessel into a container so as to create a proppant-loaded container, unloading the proppant-loaded container into a pneumatic bulk trailer, and transporting the unloaded proppant in the pneumatic bulk trailer to well site. The container is placed onto a bed of a truck and moved in proximity to the vessel. The proppant-loaded container is placed onto a tilting mechanism and then tilted so that the proppant is discharged through a flow gate of a container into a hopper. The proppant in the hopper can then be conveyed to the pneumatic bulk trailer.

  • Patent number: 9132994
Abstract: The invention relates to a standardized platform (1) equipped with two beams (11, 11?) which are transverse relative to its front end and its rear end. The transverse beams extend beyond the lateral edges of the platform, such that the ends of these beams can receive slings (24a-24d) which allow the assembly to be secured to hoisting and handling means of containers. It is thus possible to transport goods (21) which are both wider and longer than a standardized platform (1), on this platform (1). The goods can therefore be handled and loaded by means of hoisting and handling means for containers, i.e. for a cost which is reduced in comparison with oversized transport.

  • Patent number: 9126770
Abstract: A device for engaging and aligning items moving along a conveyance line that are to be positioned on a pallet is provided. The device includes a robotic arm positioned adjacent the conveyance line and having a manipulator thereon. The manipulator includes a number of fingers that extend downwardly from the manipulator in order to engage the items on the conveyance line. The fingers operate to stop and align the items to form a well-defined stack in the shape defined by the position of the fingers on the manipulator. The manipulator can rotate while the fingers are in engagement with the stack of items in order to reposition the items as desired for placement on the pallet by sliding the items along the various surfaces of the system and without lifting the items off of the conveyance line, thereby limiting the cost and time associated with the operation of the device.

  • Patent number: 9120630
Abstract: A carriage has a pivot frame which receives individual pallets. When full, a latch is released and the frame is pivoted on a base by springs into a position parallel to inclined roller tracks. An operator pushes the carriage along the tracks to an unload station, where a stack of pallets is engaged by ramps leading to elevated roller tracks. Forward movement discharges the stack to the elevated tracks, and the carriage is drawn back to the starting position, where a latch is released to allow the pivot frame to return to its original orientation against the resistance of an air cylinder. A foot latch retains the carriage within the unload station during loading.
