Abstract: An input signal analyzer determines a boundary frequency within the limit of a range which does not exceed a first frequency from the mode of an input signal. A spectrum compressor compresses a power spectrum of frequencies in a band higher than the first frequency in a frequency direction. A gain corrector performs a gain correction on the compressed power spectrum. A spectrum synthesizer reflects the power spectrum outputted from the gain corrector in a band determined by both the first frequency and the boundary frequency. A frequency-to-time converter converts both a synthesized power spectrum provided by the spectrum synthesizer and a phase spectrum of the input signal into ones in the time domain, and outputs these spectra.

Abstract: An image processing system includes an image processing apparatus and a portable terminal apparatus. The image processing apparatus includes: a first USB connector; and a command transmitter that transmits a file manipulation command. The portable terminal apparatus includes: a second USB connector; a detector that detects that the portable terminal apparatus is connected to the first USB connector via the second USB connector; a memory being capable of storing a plurality of first folders; a register that registers address information of a Web service, the Web service being combined with at least one first folder stored on the memory; a mounting portion that accesses the Web service and mounts at least one second folder of the Web service onto the at least one first folder; and a controller that obtains a file from the Web service to transfer to the image processing apparatus upon the file manipulation command being received.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer-readable and executable instructions for spatial audio database based noise discrimination are described herein. For example, one or more embodiments include comparing a sound received from a plurality of microphones to a spatial audio database, discriminating a speech command and a background noise from the received sound based on the comparison to the spatial audio database, and determining an instruction based on the discriminated speech command.

Abstract: A method and system for managing print jobs is disclosed. A received print job is compared with pending print jobs and executed print jobs, wherein the pending print jobs and the executed print jobs are stored in one or more print queues associated with one or more printing systems. Thereafter, one or more pending print jobs are suspended if the one or more pending print jobs are found similar to the received print job based on the comparison; or the received print job is suspended if the received print job is found similar to one or more of the executed print jobs, based on the comparison.

Abstract: A calibration system built in an electronic device with noise suppression is provided. The calibration system includes a first audio receiving module, a second audio receiving module and a correction module. The correction module corrects an adjustment value of the first audio receiving module and the second audio receiving module. The adjustment value is for adjusting gains of audio received results of the first audio receiving and second audio receiving.

A communication unit of a housing which corresponds to an antenna portion is provided at a position at which the communication unit can be seen without obstruction from the upper side. A communication device such as a smartphone can be brought close to or into contact with the communication unit readily. Accordingly, wireless communication between the antenna portion and the communication device can be established.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method and apparatus for authenticating a user on a mobile device. The method may include initiating authentication of the user for access to the mobile device, where access to the mobile device is granted upon successful authentication of the user by the mobile device. The method may also include performing face recognition analysis on an image of a face of the user to determine an identity of the user. Furthermore, the method may also include determining whether a first pulse information and a second pulse information associated with the user indicate a pulse match. The method may also include authenticating the user for access to the mobile device when a pulse match is determined and the determined identity of the user has permission to access the mobile device.

Abstract: A method and system creates a printed substrate suitable for conversion into a three-dimensional object. A template generator identifies a printing template having die line data representing a cutting path and folding position data representing a folding path. Foreground image data representative of a first image is automatically applied the selected printing template to define a target location for the first image, and also to define a second die line around a portion of the target location to form a second cutting path based on the foreground image data. A printer prints the first image onto a substrate at the target location, a cutting device cuts the substrate along the first cutting path and the second cutting path, and a scoring device scores the substrate along the folding path to generate a printed substrate that will fold into a three-dimensional object.

In one embodiment, the MS may receive one or more threshold values for reporting measurements to the BS. The MS may convert the threshold values to device-specific threshold values. The MS may determine one or more network quality values associated with the AP. The MS may compare the network quality values to the device-specific threshold values. In response to the network quality values exceeding the device-specific threshold values, the MS may convert the network quality values to calibrated network quality values. The MS may provide the calibrated network quality values. The MS may perform handover from the BS to the AP based on providing the calibrated network quality values to the BS.

Abstract: A conferencing system and method involves conducting a conference between endpoints. The conference can be a videoconference in which audio data and video data are exchanged or can be an audio-only conference. Audio of the conference is obtained from one of the endpoints, and speech is detected in the obtained audio. The detected speech is analyzed to determine that the detected speech constitutes a speech fragment, and an indicia indicative of the determined speech fragment is generated. For a videoconference, the indicia can be a visual cue to be added to video for the given endpoint when displayed at other endpoints. For an audio-only conference, the indicia can be an audio cue to be added to the audio of the conference at the other end points.

Abstract: Timing control procedure is needed for uplink transmissions in several communication networks. Some networks and bands have physical and regulatory limitations for obtaining timing advance value in conventional manner. One example of these limitations is disabled downlink channel in TV white spaces. The present invention provides an arrangement for obtaining timing advance value in a situation wherein the use of downlink channel is disabled.
