Abstract: A printing system includes a printing unit, a position determiner that randomly determines a position where a first information code is to be set, a modifier that modifies print data for printing an image, the first information code, and a positional information code having recorded therein positional information at the time of printing that indicates the position determined by the position determiner so that the first information code is set at the position determined by the position determiner, an acquirer that acquires the position of the first information code on a print medium as positional information and acquires the positional information at the time of the printing from the positional information code, and a determiner that determines whether the printing result is a falsified matter based on comparison of the positional information after the printing with the positional information at the time of the printing.

Abstract: A method for converting a facsimile includes receiving the facsimile via the public-switched telephone network, generating an enhanced portable document format (EPDF) file that includes information in addition to image information and communicating the EPDF file to an e-mail server. The EPDF file can then be communicated as an attachment to an e-mail message addressed to the intended recipient of the facsimile. A facsimile processing system includes a public-switched telephone network interface, a packet-switched network interface, a mail transfer protocol server, an input agent, a job processor and a translator. The input agent identifies and forwards the incoming facsimile to the job processor. The job processor determines when an EPDF file is desired and communicates appropriate instructions to the translator. The translator generates the EPDF file in response to the instructions and the image information from the facsimile.

Abstract: The management apparatus receives first designation on a file and second designation of an image forming apparatus. The management apparatus obtains information from the image forming apparatus designated by the second designation in accordance with the first designation. The management apparatus outputs a file including the obtained information. Information of the image forming apparatus designated by the second designation includes network information of the image forming apparatus, a communication date and time, a connection state, apparatus information corresponding to the type received by the first designation, and page count information not designated by the type received by the first designation. When obtainment of information complying with the first designation fails, the output file includes both information representing an error of the connection state, and page count information previously obtained from the image forming apparatus.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure are configured to allow a general user to select a preset setting as much as possible even when some of print setting items are lock-set by an administrator user. Accordingly, even when the print setting item is lock-set, the general user may select a preset setting as long as there is no conflict.

The systems and methods include storing an electronic wallet of a user, including one or more supporting documents of the user. Thereafter, the received application form is processed. Provision is made for a user to associate a unique ID with a custom color callout in a print job, e.g., during generation of the print job or at the printer. The custom color callout provides for a part of the print job to be rendered with a specific custom colorant, e.g., by identifying the name of the custom colorant. The unique ID is associated, in memory, with a custom colorant station of a print engine, independent of any custom colorant that may be housed in the custom colorant station. The method further includes identifying the custom colorant station of the print engine associated with the unique ID and sending the print job in a format for printing to the print engine for printing the part of the print job with a first custom colorant housed in the identified custom colorant station.
