  • Patent number: 4667528
Abstract: A fluid powered, rotary actuator having a body, an annular member supported for rotation relative to the body, a fluid powered piston reciprocally mounted within the body, corresponding ball races on the body and the piston with balls disposed therein for transmitting torque therebetween, and corresponding ball races on the annular member and the piston with balls disposed therein for transmitting torque therebetween. The body has opposing, generally axially inward projecting support arms, between which the annular member is positioned with ball bearings disposed between the mating annular end walls of the support arms and the annular member. In one embodiment of the invention, the annular member has an attachment rim extending radially outward beyond the body, and adapted for attachment of an external device.

  • Patent number: 4660692
Abstract: A coupling mechanism including a fluid coupling device having input and output elements, and a centrifugal type lock-up clutch for releasably engaging the input and output elements, characterized in that the lock-up clutch comprises: a cylindrical inner surface formed on the input element; a drive plate provided with friction elements displaceable in a radially outward direction for engagement with the cylindrical inner surface, and cam weights for urging the friction elements in a radially outward direction; a driven plate coupled with the output element; a damper of a resilient material provided between the drive and driven plates; and a cam surface for urging the cam weights in a radially outward direction according to the degree of relative displacement between the drive and driven plates.

  • Patent number: 4649772
Abstract: A planetary wheel drive assembly includes a hollow spindle secured to a frame which provides the support for a wheel structure, an outboard planetary gear set and an inboard disc brake mechanism. The planetary gear set has a ring gear connected to the spindle, an input sun gear shaft, and a planet carrier conjointly driving the wheel structure. An inboard end member is removable to allow independent withdrawal of the disc brake mechanism disposed radially within the spindle when the wheel structure and the spindle are removed from the frame, and an outboard end member is releasable from the wheel structure to allow access to the planetary gear set.

  • Patent number: 4577528
Abstract: A driving/turnaround device in use with a remote controlled toy vehicle comprises a reversible motor operable by an external command, an intermediate gear being in mesh with a gear rotated by the motor, a pair of axles being independently provided for right and left driving wheels, the intermediate gear being in mesh with a gear for transmitting a drive force to one of the axles, a rectilinear movement gear and a turnaround reduction gear being in mesh with a gear for transmitting a drive force to the other of the axles, a swing member rotatably mounted to the car body being provided with a pair of switch gears meshing with each other, the swing member being swung so that one of the pair of the switch gears meshes with the intermediate gear, while the other is in mesh with the rectilinear movement gear in the forward rotation, and is meshed with the reduction gear in the reverse rotation.
