Patent number: 7752932Abstract: A linear actuator is provided with an outer tube, an intermediate tube and an inner tube, and the tubes are all polygonal in cross section and are mounted orderly. The outer tube is disposed at the bottom thereof with a push device which has a screw and a nut that are screwed with each other. The nut is engaged in the intermediate tube and is linked to move axially by the screw. The intermediate tube can be movably equipped with a pulling member, and the pulling member can link the inner tube to synchronously move in the axial direction. By such arrangements, the linear actuator allows the respective tubes to extend and retract axially relative to one another while preventing them from moving relative to one another in radial direction, thus achieving the stable and smooth axial movement.Type: GrantFiled: April 6, 2008Date of Patent: July 13, 2010Assignee: Hiwin Mikrosystem Corp.Inventors: Tung-Hsin Chen, Hsin-An Chiang

Patent number: 7752938Abstract: In a concentric double axis mechanism (1); a driving bevel gear (7) is placed concentrically with and freely from any interference with an axis-A (3), a follower bevel gear (8) is meshed with the driving bevel gear (7), and an axis-B (9) is concentrically connected and fixed to the follower bevel gear (8). Since the driving bevel gear (7) is driven by the axis-B actuator (12) that is independent from the axis-A actuator (11), the axis-B (9) can be driven being free from any interference with the axis-A (3). The axis-A actuator (11) does not become a load for the axis-B actuator (12), nor does the axis-B actuator (12) become a load for the axis-A actuator (11).Type: GrantFiled: March 18, 2008Date of Patent: July 13, 2010Assignee: Harmonic Drive Systems Inc.Inventor: Naoki Kanayama

Patent number: 7640825Abstract: A tension compensation assembly for a mechanical control cable. The tension compensation device has a housing with opposing ends. First and second sections of the control cable pass through but are attached at each end of the housing such that the sheaths of each section are coupled to the housing and reciprocable cable coaxially disposed in each control cable section extend into the housing. The cables are attached to opposing ends of a reciprocably disposed capsule or spring caps generally enclosing a spring. In operation, the capsule moves slidably within the housing over a predetermined travel and tension for the cables. However, if an over-tension condition is experienced, the capsule may bottom out at an end of the housing and the spring will either compress or extend, depending upon its design, thus allowing the effective length of the control cable assembly to increase, thus preventing the stretching or breaking of the cables or damage to cable end fittings.Type: GrantFiled: December 20, 2008Date of Patent: January 5, 2010Assignee: Honda Motor Co., LtdInventors: Patrick Basile, Charles Haase

Patent number: 7621196Abstract: A shift lever device has resin pieces, and a resin outer tube which is formed at an outer side of a shift lever main body. The resin pieces and the resin outer tube can be molded separately. Therefore, the resin pieces independently can be molded with high precision. Even in a structure in which interposed portions of the resin pieces are interposed between a detent pin and inner walls of long holes of the shift lever main body, the interposed portions do not project-out unnecessarily at an inner side of the shift lever main body. Resin can be interposed between the detent pin and the long holes of the shift lever main body, without carrying out precise inspection or repair work.Type: GrantFiled: September 27, 2006Date of Patent: November 24, 2009Assignee: Kabushiki Kaisha Tokai-Rika-Denki-SeisakushoInventors: Shiro Esaki, Junya Nishio, Yutaka Suzuki

Patent number: 7587956Abstract: A device for controlling motion of an object includes a housing defining first and second cavities each extending from a first to a second longitudinal end of the housing. A partition separates the cavities. A first sliding member is movable within the first cavity, and includes a first extension extending outwardly from the first longitudinal end for being attached to an object whose movement is to be controlled. A second sliding member is movable within the second cavity, and includes a second extension extending outwardly from a longitudinal end for being pulled a variably controlled distance away from the housing. A motion limiting member communicates with the sliding members such that movement of the second extension the variably controlled distance away from the housing causes the first extension to be movable the variably controlled distance in a direction in which the second sliding member is pulled.Type: GrantFiled: August 29, 2006Date of Patent: September 15, 2009Assignee: Franklin Products, Inc.Inventor: Howard Velasco, Jr.

Patent number: 7584677Abstract: A kit is described that modifies a standard screw jack for a trailer hitch, by introducing a safety lock mechanism. The modified screw jack will be inoperative until the safety lock mechanism is opened. In the inoperative position, the screw jack cannot be turned to lift or lower the trailer hitch. The crank for turning the screw jack will be freewheeling or frozen. Turning a key in a lock keyway will release the safety lock mechanism, thus putting the crank into rotational engagement with the screw jack.Type: GrantFiled: September 21, 2006Date of Patent: September 8, 2009Inventors: Glenn Johnson, John Pallay, Kevin Mak
