  • Patent number: 11829960
Abstract: Techniques are described for using a supplemental data layer of a real time payments channel to send data. For example, an entity may request a transaction with another entity, and the transaction may be performed using a channel that includes a supplemental data layer. Supplemental data, in addition to the data for the transaction itself, may be communicated using the supplemental data layer to entities involved in the transaction, and/or to third parties. The supplemental data may be sent in real time with respect to the sending of the data for the transaction. In some instances, supplemental data layer is present in one or both directions in the two-way communications between the entities involved in the transaction. The supplemental data layer can be leveraged to provide additional information and/or services to a user involved in the transaction.

  • Patent number: 11816740
Abstract: Systems and methods for intellectual property (IP) asset protection are disclosed. For example, by analyzing characteristic information associated with a user, along with feedback from one or more potential insurers, the system may determine various terms of an insurance policy for protecting the user against claims of IP infringement. The policy may provide for financial reimbursement for costs incurred while taking active measures to mitigate losses and/or defend against such claims. In addition, the system may analyze the characteristic information to identify various users having a low exposure of an infringement claim being asserted. The identified users may be actively targeted to acquire an IP protection policy.

  • Patent number: 11756036
Abstract: Techniques for an identity-verification system to analyze image data representing palms of users using a segmented, characteristic-based approach. The system may compare palm-feature data representing characteristics of a palm of a user (or “query palm”) with stored palm-feature data of palms for user profiles (or “stored palms”). For instance, the system may identify characteristics of the query palm having salient or discriminative features, and compare palm-feature data for those discriminative characteristics to palm-feature data representing corresponding characteristics of stored palms of enrolled users. Additionally, the system may compare characteristics of the query palm with corresponding characteristics of stored palms until the system is confident that the query palm corresponds to a stored palm of a user profile.

  • Patent number: 11710116
Abstract: In the field of payment terminals, a new generation of modular, function-rich payment terminals is appearing. Such smart payment terminals transmit, equally well, data relative to payment transactions and, for example, data relative to software updates. However, at present, a smart payment terminal in incapable of transmitting different data in accordance with their respective transmission constraints. This can represent a considerable cost for the merchant. A communications device is therefore provided to set up two connections simultaneously with two different gateways and thus be capable of exchanging data associated with different transmission parameters. Thus, the communications device can simultaneously transmit data relative to different types of services having distinct transmission parameters.
