Patent number: 8766764Abstract: The present specification discloses a system for controlling a movement of at least one person into a controlled location. The system includes an X-ray screening system having an entrance area defined by walls and a gate, and an exit area defined by walls and a gate. The gates are automatically controlled based upon the output of the X-ray screening system. Additional gates, defining an additional holding area, are used for subsequent analysis and inspection.Type: GrantFiled: September 23, 2010Date of Patent: July 1, 2014Assignee: Rapiscan Systems, Inc.Inventor: Timothy James Rayner

Patent number: 8659405Abstract: A wireless-control lighting device includes a control switch module mounted on a braking handle set, and a lighting displaying unit mounted on a bicycle and having a wireless receiver, a plurality of indicators and a second power supply. The control switch module includes a switch element, a circuit board, a wireless superconductor IC and a first power supply. The switch element and the wireless superconductor IC are electrically connected to the circuit board. The first power supply provides power to the circuit board and the wireless super conductor. When the switch element is working, and the wireless superconductor IC emits an actuating signal. The wireless receiver, the indicators and the second power supply are electrically connected to one another. The second power supply provides power to the wireless receiver and the indicators. The wireless receiver receives the actuating signal which accordingly actuates the operation of the indicators.Type: GrantFiled: March 24, 2011Date of Patent: February 25, 2014Assignee: Tektro Technology CorporationInventor: Szu-Fang Tsai

Patent number: 8624704Abstract: A safety apparatus has a configurable safety controller (10) and a configuration means, wherein the safety controller (10) has at least one input (18) for the connection of a sensor (20a-c), at least one output (22) for the connection of an actuator (24a-b), and a control unit (14) configured to carry out a control program which generates a control signal at the outputs (22) in a dependence on input signals at the inputs (18) by means of logic rules. The logic rules are settable by means of the configuration means. A number code representing the logic rules can be generated in the configuration means, and the safety controller (10) includes an interface (30) for the input of the number code. The control unit (14) is configured to carry out a control program with the logic rules represented by the number code.Type: GrantFiled: March 1, 2011Date of Patent: January 7, 2014Assignee: Sick AGInventor: Patrick Bornstein

Patent number: 8610560Abstract: A system for monitoring a structure prior to and during subjection to a hazardous condition. The system includes a primary monitoring apparatus comprising a monitoring circuit and alerting circuit integrated into an enclosure. The monitoring circuit includes a sensor for detecting an individual or an animal within the area. The alerting circuit includes at least one alerting device. The alerting device can be any of audible alert, a visual alert, and a remote communications. A remote alerting apparatus includes at least one alert device. Signal communication is established between the monitoring apparatus and the alerting apparatus, wherein the primary apparatus activates the alert device(s) of the remote apparatus. The system is deployed within a structure, including placement of an alerting apparatus external to the structure. The system is activated prior to initiation of the hazardous process, monitoring the region for any living beings and emitting an alert when detected.Type: GrantFiled: October 25, 2012Date of Patent: December 17, 2013Inventor: Charles Steven Conner
