  • Patent number: 10772053
Abstract: System and method for temperature-calibration of a crystal oscillator (XO) in a mobile device. A temperature-calibration status of the XO is determined and a trigger condition related to temperature-calibration of the XO is detected. If the temperature-calibration status of the XO is not fully temperature-calibrated or if the XO has not been previously temperature-calibrated, a temperature-calibration session is initiated by an XO manager based on the condition, wherein a receiver is configured to receive signals and temperature-calibration of the XO is performed in a background mode based on the received signals. The condition based triggering ensures that the XO is temperature-calibrated prior to launch of any position based or global navigation satellite systems (GNSS) based applications on the mobile device.

  • Patent number: 10727878
Abstract: Embodiments of the disclosure include a multi-band radio frequency (RF) circuit. The multi-band RF circuit includes multiple antenna ports coupled to multiple antennas and an antenna swapping circuit coupled to the multiple antenna ports. Control circuitry in the multi-band RF circuit controls the antenna swapping circuit to selectively couple various transmit and/or receive filters with any one or more of the multiple antenna ports to support uplink carrier aggregation (ULCA) and/or multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) operations with a minimum number of transmit and receive filters. Transmit filters of adjacent RF bands are physically separated, but disposed in proximity, in the multi-band RF circuit to help reduce intermodulation products between the adjacent RF bands during the ULCA operation. As a result, it is possible to improve RF performance of ULCA and MIMO operations, without increasing complexity, cost, and footprint of the multi-band RF circuit.

  • Patent number: 10659200
Abstract: The described embodiments augment an activity performed in a first application at a source electronic device using a controller at a companion electronic device. The source electronic device receives controller information describing a controller that the activity performed in the first application accepts controller data from, determines a controller identifier for the controller information, and broadcasts a controller advertisement comprising the controller identifier. Upon receiving the controller advertisement, the companion electronic device determines whether a second application that can provide the controller data is available at the companion electronic device. If the second application is available, the companion electronic device establishes a cooperative-activity communication channel with the source electronic device. The companion electronic device uses the cooperative-activity communication channel to provide controller data to the source electronic device.
