  • Patent number: 10628957
Abstract: This specification discloses computer-based systems, methods, devices, and other techniques for estimating the pose of a device, including estimating the pose based on images captured by a set of image sensors disposed around the device's periphery. Some implementations include a system that obtains visual data representing at least one image captured by one or more image sensors of a mobile device. The at least one image show an environment of the mobile device, and the one or more image sensors are located at respective corners of the mobile device, or at other locations around its periphery. The system processes the visual data to determine a pose of the mobile device. Further, the system can determine a location of the mobile device in the environment based on the pose, and can present an indication of the location of the mobile device in the environment.

  • Patent number: 10614473
Abstract: System and methods are provided to create representations of geographic areas. Such representations enable users to search for items and services of interest and to quickly locate and utilize such items and services. Representations are created using user preferences thus reducing the amount of information presented to a user, i.e., user preferences control the contents of a representation. Control APIs contained within a representation may be used to control devices represented in a representation or to manufacture them using 3-D printing technologies. Methods to learn user preferences via his movements and other actions and impose a user's preferences upon an environment are shown. Some details of the invention are described by applying the invention to problems in retail marketing and figures depicting an implementation illustrate certain aspects of the invention.

  • Patent number: 10602359
Abstract: Techniques are described for cross-device authorization using a wireless network connection. Computing device(s) may broadcast an identification signal indicating that the device is authorized to access a remote service, and is therefore available to provide an authorization token to a receiving device. The receiving device may determine one of the broadcasting device(s) to use for cross-device authorization. The receiving device may send a request, to the determined broadcasting device, for an authorization token to access the remote service. The broadcasting device may receive the request and transmit a message to a server device indicating that an authorization token is to be provided to the receiving device. Alternatively, the authorization token may be sent directly from the broadcasting device to the receiving device (e.g., over the wireless communication network). On receiving the authorization token, the receiving device may use it to access the remote service.

  • Patent number: 10595159
Abstract: Various examples are directed to systems and methods for provisioning news items. A news provisioning application may apply user interest data to select a first news item from news data and determine that the first news item is negative for the first user based at least in part on the financial data. The news provisioning application may receive, from a first network-enabled device, physiological data describing a physiological condition of the first user at a first time and determine to provide the first news item to the first user based at least in part on the physiological data. The news provisioning application may send to a second network-enabled device, alert data instructing the second network-enabled device to modify the operation of the second network-enabled device to generate an alert indicating the first news item.

  • Patent number: 10582349
Abstract: A device obtains a list of a plurality of user devices from a first network device and receives a message intended for a destination user device from a second network device. The device obtains information indicating that the destination user device can receive messages that conform to a particular format from a third network device and converts the message to the particular format. The device determines a reachability of the destination user device based on the list of the plurality of user devices, after converting the message, and sends the message to the destination user device via the first network device based on the reachability. The device receives a delivery message from the destination user device and sends a notification message indicating successful delivery of the message to the second network device based on the delivery message.

  • Patent number: 10582332
Abstract: The present disclosure generally discloses an autonomous localization capability configured to determine the localization of a mobile device of a wireless communication network based on a sequence of observations reported by the mobile device and a model that represents the motion and observations of mobile devices of the wireless communication network. The model that represents the motion and observations of the mobile devices may be a Hidden Markov Model (HMM) constructed based on use of localization information to define the hidden states of the and use of signal strength measurement reporting information to define possible observations. The localization problem for determining a localization of a given mobile device then becomes a maximum a posterior problem represented by the HMM, which may be solved using a particle filter based localization algorithm using localization probability distribution information which may be determined based on signal strength measurement reporting information.

  • Patent number: 10517066
Abstract: Handling of a paging extension in a wireless communication network. A terminal device in the wireless communication network receives, from a base station in the wireless communication network, a message including an indication of a paging extension for the terminal device. The terminal device is associated with a first coverage class. Based on the message, the terminal device determines a second coverage class of a downlink transmission from the base station to a further terminal device. Then, the terminal device determines a target paging group for the paging extension based on the first coverage class and the second coverage class.

  • Patent number: 10516971
Abstract: Methods and techniques are described for supporting location services for a user equipment (UE) in a Fifth Generation wireless network using a Location Management Function (LMF) based control plane (CP) location solution. The LMF serves as the main anchor point for location support instead of an Access and Mobility Management Function (AMF). The LMF may be in either a serving Public Land Mobile Network (PLMN) for a UE or in a Home PLMN for a roaming UE. The LMF may obtain location information for a UE via an AMF from a Next Generation Radio Access Network or the UE and may interact with a Gateway Mobile Location Center to receive location requests from and return location information to an external client. The LMF solution may be more efficient and require less implementation than an AMF based CP location solution.

  • Patent number: 10495746
Abstract: Architecture and techniques for identifying types of objects based upon disruption of signal strength of millimeter-wave (mmW) transmitted signals caused by objects interfering with or blocking transmitted signals within a wireless communication network. In particular, types of objects may be identified based upon drops in signal strength due to objects moving between a transmission point and a receiving device. Based on factors including one or more of a size of an object, materials that make up the object, etc., the object causes a drop in received signal strength, thereby causing a change in a pattern of received signal strength. The changed pattern may be compared with base patterns that are correlated with a type or identity of an object in order to identify the object.
