Abstract: Apparatus and methods are described including, using a computer processor, automatically identifying whether a given pixel within an image corresponds to a portion of an object. A set of concentric circles that are disposed around the pixel are sampled, and a first function is applied to each of the circles such that the circles are defined by a first set of rotationally invariant descriptors. A second function is applied to the set of circles to generate a second set of descriptors, each of which represents a difference between respective pairs of the circles. A third function is applied such that the second set of descriptors becomes rotationally invariant. The processor identifies whether the given pixel corresponds to the portion of the object, based upon the first and second sets of rotationally invariant descriptors. Other applications are also described.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a method of correcting a three-dimensional image. To correct an image distorted by coherence gate curvature (CGC) occurring by an optical system, the method generates a three-dimensional image of a sample holder on which an object to be measured is placed from an interference signal, generates a CGC profile on the basis of an image of a cover glass of the sample holder appearing in the three-dimensional image, generates a CGC fitting curve from the CGC profile, and corrects the interference signal by using the CGC fitting curve. The present disclosure also relates to an OCT system capable of performing a method of correcting a three-dimensional image.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a method includes generating an outputted sequence of warped images from a captured sequence of images. Using this captured sequence of images, a computing system may determine one or more three-dimensional locations of object features and a corresponding camera position for each image in the captured sequence of images. Utilizing the camera positions for each image, the computing system may determine a view path representing the perspective of a virtual camera. The computing system may identify one or more virtual camera positions for the virtual camera located on the view path, and subsequently warp one or more images from the sequence of captured images to represent the perspective of the virtual camera at each of the respective virtual camera positions. This results in a sequence of warped images that may be outputted for viewing and interaction on a client device.

Abstract: An authentication information processing method for an authentication information processing device that includes a processor and a memory includes acquiring a plurality of pair candidate and image information for each of the plurality of pair candidate. The each of the plurality of pair candidate is a candidate of a combination of related information for collation and related information for registration to be used to calculate a degree of similarity. The authentication information includes a plural pieces of the related information. The method includes narrowing down the plurality of pair candidate by comparing the acquired image information of the plurality of pair candidate of the related information for collation and the related information for registration and determining a correspondence between the related information for collation and the related information for registration used to calculate the degree of similarity, from among the narrowed down pair candidates.
Abstract: In one exemplary embodiment in accordance with the disclosure, an image processing system is configured to use a distance authentication template to execute a detection procedure that detects at least one non-linear distortion in a subject image. The distance authentication template can be generated by mapping a set of spatial coordinates of three features in a distortion-free image to a set of pixel coordinates of the three features in the distortion-free image. Addressing a non-linear distortion in the subject image can include performing remedial actions to remedy the non-linear distortion, or taking into consideration the non-linear distortion when using the distance authentication template to identify one or more features in the subject image.
Abstract: When removing a block distortion occurring in a local decoded image, a loop filtering part 11 of an image coding device carries out a filtering process on each of signal components (a luminance signal component and color difference signal components) after setting the intensity of a filter for removing the block distortion for each of the signal components according to a coding mode (an intra coding mode or an inter coding mode) selected by a coding controlling part 1.
