  • Patent number: 11831943
Abstract: The subject technology provides for synchronized playback of different media content streams. The disclosed techniques may include determining, while certain audio content is being outputted, whether a triggering event has occurred at a media device. Responsive to a determination that the triggering event has occurred, audio information including identification information and a current output status of the audio content may be obtained, and a visual content stream for visual content corresponding to the audio content may be obtained. At the media device, the visual content stream may be processed based on the audio information to determine a starting time point indicating a time point within the visual content from which to start outputting the visual content. The visual content may be outputted such that the output of the visual content begins at the starting time point and is synchronized in time with the audio content.

  • Patent number: 11792458
Abstract: A content server may receive from a user device a request for a content asset and may send to the playback device a permit for accessing the content asset. The permit may be used by the content server in order to enforce a concurrency restriction, or a number of concurrent playbacks of one or more content assets desired or permitted by the playback device. In response to receiving a request for a content asset segment associated with a content asset, the content server may determine whether the number of permits currently granted to the playback device exceeds the number of desired or permitted accesses by the playback device, or a group of playback devices, to the content asset or one or more content assets. If so, then the content server may discontinue sending to the playback device any further content asset segments associated with that content asset.

  • Patent number: 11778267
Abstract: A technique is described for converting a variety of video streams from transmission sources into a single designated video stream on a client device. As an example, a converter device may receive video streams from multiple transmission sources and select the video stream to convert and output on a client device based on the signal quality. In some examples, the converter device may switch between transmission sources. The converter device may measure the time offset between the video streams of the transmission sources and buffer one of the video streams to align the timing of the video streams, so the user does not detect a timing delay while viewing the video content.

  • Patent number: 11770584
Abstract: A system and method for optimizing video for transmission on a device includes, in one example, the method includes capturing an original video frame and scaling the original video frame down to a lower resolution video frame. The lower resolution video frame is downscaled using a first encoder to produce a first layer output and the first layer output is decoded. The decoded first layer output is upscaled to match a resolution of the original video frame. A difference is obtained between the upscaled decoded first layer output and the original video frame. The difference is independently encoded using a second encoder to create a second layer output. The first and second layer outputs may be stored or sent to another device.

  • Patent number: 11762247
Abstract: Provided is a display device including a display panel which allows a curvature portion thereof to be narrowed near a terminal portion even when circuit blocks are arranged in the curvature portion. For a data line in the form of a polyline consisting of a plurality of short straight line segments in a first curvature portion 12a of a display panel 10, as the distance from a terminal portion 16 increases, the slant angle of each straight line segment increases, the number of data lines d decreases, and hence the width of a data line area decreases. Accordingly, the number of unit circuit blocks 70 in a parallel circuit block 80 disposed in a circuit area can be increased by widening the circuit area in proportion to the decrease in the width of the data line area.
