Abstract: A vehicle can be configured to provide coasting coach support when approaching a learned deceleration area, advising on how to more efficiently operate the vehicle as it approaches the learned deceleration area. An indicator can be presented within the vehicle to inform the driver that coasting coach support is provided for the learned deceleration area. However, in certain situations, it may not be possible for a vehicle to provide coasting coach support for a learned deceleration area, such as may occur when the vehicle encounters two consecutive learned deceleration areas located in close proximity to each other. There may not be sufficient time to provide coasting coach support for the second of the two consecutive learned deceleration areas. In such instances, the vehicle can be configured to present the coasting coach indicator for the first deceleration area and to disable the coasting coach indicator for the second deceleration area.

Abstract: A system and method to facilitate lifestyle changes by providing support, motivation, progress/tracking, information, analysis. Exemplary embodiments include targeted suggestions for changes based on the individual's actual activity to increase the likelihood of a successful adoption. Exemplary embodiments may also include convenient mechanisms for entering information into the system for assessing and tracking the user's performance.

Abstract: A product recommendation expert system including a server; at least one consumer computer that is linked, via a distributed network, to the server; and at least one management computer that is linked, via a distributed network, to the server; wherein the server includes at least some of a product profile database for storing and/or updating product information for a plurality of products, a criteria database for storing and/or updating evaluation criteria by which a product is evaluated, and at least one first consumer profile database for storing and/or updating consumer profile information for a plurality of consumers; and at least one second consumer profile database, wherein the second consumer profile database contains at least some previously stored, supplemental consumer profile information, wherein the supplemental consumer profile information includes at least some consumer profile information that is different from the consumer profile information in the first consumer profile database.

Abstract: A method for automatically analyzing and teaching optimal sport swings to users having the steps of: a user records a swing video of the user's sports swing with a video recorder or mobile device; the user uploads the swing video to an internet portal; the user answers a questionnaire on the internet portal; video recognition software on the internet portal uses an algorithm to compare the swing video to pre-established swing parameter values and to analyze and determine errors in the swing; the internet portal prepares a swing analysis explanation, a swing error explanation, a swing correction explanation, and pre-recorded video guides; and the internet portal sends the swing analysis explanation, the swing error explanation, the swing correction explanation, and pre-recorded video guides to the user.

Abstract: Embodiments provide a generative group-based meal planning system and method for the creation of candidate meal plans based upon a pre-selected list of ingredients. The meal planning system can create parent meal plans based upon one or more recipes having one or more of the pre-selected ingredients. Child meal plans can be created by the random crossing of the recipes contained in the parent meal plans. The child meal plans can be scored against a genetic algorithm, such as a fitness function, which takes into consideration cost of ingredients, waste, flavor compatibility, preparation time, and ingredient shelf life. The meal planning system can utilize a cognitive system with natural language processing abilities to generate new recipes based off of waste or flavor compatibility. The child meal plans having the highest fitness score can be used as the parent meal plans in the next iteration of analysis. After a pre-determined number of iterations, a candidate meal plan can be output by the system.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method comprising: retrieving, by one or more computer systems, a patient education module for educating a patient about a medical procedure; wherein a structure of the patient education module comprises a first educational section and a second educational section; where the first educational section comprises information and one or more visualizations related to a first stage of the medical procedure; wherein the second educational section comprises information and one or more visualizations related to a second stage of the medical procedure; transmitting, to a device used by the patient, the patient education module for the patient to review the patient education module; receiving, from the device used by the patient, information specifying that the patient has reviewed and understood one or more of the first educational section and the second educational section.
