  • Patent number: 7847434
Abstract: A cogeneration system comprising a generator connected to an AC power feed line between a power network and an electrical load and an internal combustion engine for driving the generator and for supplying its exhaust heat to a thermal load. The power supply from the generator to the power network is interrupted by turning off a switch installed in the feed line when an outage of the power network is detected. A battery for storing DC power is connected to an inverter circuit to invert the DC power to AC power, such that the inverted AC power of the battery and the output of the generator are supplied to the electrical load, thereby enabling the system to respond to a power network outage and preventing reverse flow of the power output by the cogeneration system into the power network while supplying as much electric power as possible to the electrical load.

  • Patent number: 7830041
Abstract: An electric socket is provided. The socket includes a power saving circuit determining operation status of an electronic apparatus or plural electronic apparatus connected to another electric socket according to a load signal to control to supply or automatically interrupt power. It is possible to control power according to operating status of the connected electronic apparatus and to control power supplied to the electronic apparatus connected to a home network. After time has elapsed when the electronic apparatus is not used, power is automatically interrupted so that undesired power consumption due to standby power can be prevented and costs thereof are significantly saved. The electronic apparatus is prevented from accident load inputted from the exterior so that the lifespan of the electronic apparatus can be elongated and user convenience is remarkably improved.

  • Patent number: 7825541
Abstract: Parallel-connected UPS units of an online UPS system, which are each connected on the input side via a choke coil to an AC mains, in disconnectable fashion, and on the output side to a common load bus and whose supplied powers are individually variable, are disconnected from the AC mains in the event of a failure of the AC mains, at least if they are affected by the failure, and are successively reconnected to the AC mains after the restoration of the AC mains. In this case, in order to match the powers supplied by the individual UPS units to one another, while some of the UPS units are connected on the input side to the AC mains and others of the UPS units are not connected on the input side to the AC mains, a phase angle ?? between the AC mains and the load bus is determined, and the power supplied by each of the UPS units which have not yet been reconnected to the AC mains is adjusted as a function of this phase angle ??.
