Abstract: An absorbent article which can have an improved vertical absorption capability in the depth direction of the absorbent article. The absorbent article can have a topsheet layer, a backsheet layer, and an absorbent system positioned between the topsheet layer and the backsheet layer. The absorbent system can have at least a fluid intake layer and an absorbent core. The fluid intake layer can provide the absorbent article with a raised portion which can improve the vertical absorption capability in the depth direction of the absorbent article.

Abstract: An absorbent article has a liquid pervious topsheet, a liquid impervious backsheet, an absorbent core disposed between the topsheet and backsheet; first and second opposing longitudinal side edges, a front waist region and a back waist region; and a first and second back ear extending outwardly from the first and longitudinal side edges in the back waist region, respectively. The first and second back ears have an engineering strain greater than about 8% at about or below 2N of force when measured according to the Back Ear Extension Test, and a roughness Ra lower than about 300 ?m when measured according to the Roughness Test.

Abstract: A system of pantiliners and menstrual pads that can be used to alleviate undesirable conditions associated with dysmenorrhea or other physiological conditions is provided. The pantiliners of the invention include a top layer of composite material, a ventilation layer, and a bottom layer of breathable material. The menstrual pads of the invention include a top layer of composite material, an air-laid layer, a layer of super adsorbent polymer inside the air-laid layer, a ventilation layer, and a bottom layer of breathable material. The present system of pantiliners and menstrual pads is helpful in providing a decrease of pain and other unwanted symptoms during a menstrual cycle. In another advantage, the right placement guide and the left placement guide are provided to assist in placing the menstrual pads of the invention accurately in relation to the undergarment of the user.

Abstract: Embodiments disclosed herein are directed to negative pressure treatment systems and wound dressing systems, apparatuses, and methods that may be used for the treatment of wounds. In particular, some embodiments are directed to improved wound dressings comprising a number of viewing portals that facilitate observation of wound tissue or healthy skin underlying the wound dressing. Some embodiments of the viewing portals are provided by forming through holes in internal dressing layers including absorbent material and transmission material, optionally by providing a plug material within the through holes, and by providing translucent or transparent cover layer and tissue contact layer materials.

Abstract: A cover nonwoven fabric covers a back surface of an inner member from between a front side outer member and the inner member to between a back side outer member and the inner member. The cover nonwoven fabric extends from a back surface side of a base portion of one side gather to a back surface side of a base portion of the other side gather. The cover nonwoven fabric has holes penetrating the front and back surfaces at intervals from between the front side outer and inner members to between the back side outer and inner members. The side edges of the cover nonwoven fabric are located at the positions same as the side edges of the narrowest part of the absorber in the width direction or on the center side in the width direction with respect to the side edges of the narrowest part.

Abstract: A disposable absorbent pant having a front belt portion and a rear belt portion is disclosed. The front and rear belt portions are joined at side seams and the rear belt portion has a greater length than the front belt portion. A lower edge of the rear belt portion forms at least in part edges of left and right leg openings to the rear of the side seams. The rear belt portion includes first and second layers of nonwoven web material sandwiching a plurality of laterally extending and laterally pre-strained elastic strands, disposed below the side seams. A first of the plurality of elastic strands differs from a second of the plurality of elastic strands by one or more of amount of pre-strain, tensile modulus, decitex, and combinations thereof.

Abstract: A treatment system for debriding a treatment area of a tissue site and applying negative pressure is disclosed. In some embodiments, the treatment system may include an ultrasonic bubble generator fluidly coupled to a negative-pressure source, fluid source, and a dressing. Fluid may be drawn from the fluid source to the ultrasonic bubble generator, whereby micro-bubbles and ultrasonic waves may be generated in the fluid before the fluid is instilled to the dressing.

Abstract: An absorbent article can have a pair of pivotable wings. The pair of pivotable wings can be formed from a wing material which can be bonded to a backsheet layer of the absorbent article and each wing can be configured to pivot between a first wing configuration and a second wing configuration. The wing material can be provided with a wing pivot point and fold lines which can enable the pivoting between the first wing configuration and the second wing configuration.

Abstract: An elastic film stretchable structure in which an elastic film is stacked between a first sheet layer having air permeability and a second sheet layer having air permeability, the first sheet layer and the second sheet layer are bonded through bonding holes penetrating the elastic film at a number of sheet bonded portions arranged at intervals. A region having the elastic film stretchable structure has a stretchable region that is stretchable in a stretchable direction, and the stretchable region is contracted in the stretchable direction by a contraction force of the elastic film and is extensible in the stretchable direction, and vent holes are formed on the elastic film at sites where the elastic film does not overlap with the sheet bonded portions.

The absorbent article can further include an exudate management layer in fluid communication with the topsheet layer. In various embodiments, the exudate management layer can be positioned on a body facing surface of the topsheet layer. In various embodiments, the exudate management layer can be positioned between the topsheet layer and the absorbent core. The exudate management layer has a first component which defines an opening for direct passage of body exudates into the absorbent core. The exudate management layer has a second component which at least partially overlaps the first component of the exudate management layer and further extends in the longitudinal direction of the absorbent article in a direction towards the posterior region of the absorbent article.

Abstract: A method of assembling an absorbent article having the steps of: a) providing a hot melt adhesive composition, wherein the adhesive has an amorphous polyolefin composition with more than 40% 1-butene and from about 10 wt. % to about 50 wt. % of a second amorphous polymer, and wherein the hot melt adhesive composition comprises less than 5% of a tackifier; b) providing a plurality of absorbent article components; and c) joining at least one of the absorbent article components to another of the absorbent article components using the adhesive so as to assemble the absorbent article.

Abstract: A tampon has a pair of longitudinally extending side edges and an absorbent member. The absorbent member has an insertion area, a withdrawal area, and an intermediate area between the insertion area and the withdrawal area and an attachment area. The absorbent material has a plurality of fiber integrated nonwoven layers but are without fiber integration adjacent layers outboard of the attachment area. A withdrawal line extends from the withdrawal area and is attached to the absorbent member in the attachment area such that each of the plurality of absorbent layers is attached to an adjacent nonwoven layer in the attachment area.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides an absorbent article for personal hygiene. More particularly, in one embodiment, the absorbent article absorbent article includes at least one property changing indicator. A detector device is also provided that includes at least one sensor. The sensor is adapted to detect the property change of the property change indicator in the absorbent article. In one particular embodiment, for example, the property changing indicator may include an optical property indicator such as a color change indicator and the sensor may include an optical sensor such as a color sensor.

Abstract: A flow of an excretion liquid into a side pocket is accomplished with a simple structure using an imperforated sheet. A side pocket extending in a front-back direction LD is disposed in an absorbent article on a lateral side of an absorber. The side pocket is surrounded by a side cover portion reaching the back surface side of the absorber from above a side of a top sheet via an upper portion, an outer side, and a lower portion of the side pocket. A portion located above the side of the top sheet in the side cover portion includes a non-bonded portion not bonded to the top sheet and a bonded portion located on both front and back sides of the non-bonded portion. A gap between the side cover portion and the top sheet in the non-bonded portion is open above the top sheet and toward the side pocket.

Abstract: A disposable pant that for absorbing liquid and human waste. The disposable pants include an upper section, designed to wrap around a child's waist, a front panel, an opposing back panel, and two side edges located between the front and back panel. Two leg portions are disposed on either side of a crotch area, with fasteners placed on each side edge that are designed to secure the front panel to the back panel. A diaper is in the crotch area, having a pocket designed to absorb solid waste and channels designed to absorb liquid waste. At an end of each leg portion there is an elastic cuff designed to secure each leg portion to an ankle. There is an inner lining inside the pants that is composed of an absorbent material. A child can use the disposable pants as a diaper without ruining a pair of non-disposable pants.
