  • Patent number: 9811798
Abstract: A system and method for locating nearby attended delivery/pickup locations with a particular item in stock is described. The system receives a request from an individual to purchase a particular item from an on-line retailer. The system receives information associated with attended delivery/pickup locations, including location and inventory information. The system then determines which (if any) attended delivery/pickup locations (e.g., the attended delivery/pickup locations are not the on-line retailer) are near the individual and have the particular item in stock and notifies the individual. In various embodiments, the system enables the user to purchase or reserve the particular item at the particular attended delivery/pickup location.

  • Patent number: 9779407
Abstract: Real-time fraud prevention software-as-a-service (SaaS) products include computer instruction sets to enable a network server to receive medical histories, enrollments, diagnosis, prescription, treatment, follow up, billings, and other data as they occur. The SaaS includes software instruction sets to combine, correlate, categorize, track, normalize, and compare the data sorted by patient, healthcare provider, institution, seasonal, and regional norms. Fraud reveals itself in the ways data points deviate from norms in nonsensical or inexplicable conduct. The individual behaviors of each healthcare provider are independently monitored, characterized, and followed by self-spawning smart agents that can adapt and change their rules as the healthcare providers evolve. Such smart agents will issue flags when their particular surveillance target is acting out of character, outside normal parameters for them. Fraud controls can therefore be much tighter than those that have to accommodate those of a diverse group.

  • Patent number: 9757045
Abstract: The present invention provides a system and method for determining and maintaining a concentration level of medication in a patient sufficient to achieve and maintain a desired effect on that patient. Generally speaking, in accordance with one embodiment of the invention, a medication delivery controller uses a patient response profile to determine a concentration of medication in the patient that will achieve the desired effect on the patient. The patient response profile is a graphical, tabular or analytical expression of the relationship between the concentration of a medication and the effect of the medication at the specific concentration. Using this information, the medication delivery controller provides instructions to a medication delivery unit such as, for example, an infusion pump or inhalation device, to deliver the medication to the patient at a rate that will achieve the desired concentration level of the medication in the patient.

  • Patent number: 9760679
Abstract: An analyte measurement system includes one or more handheld analyte meters and/or measurement devices and a means for collecting data, preserving data integrity, and uniquely identifying patient data received from multiple sources. For example, provided herein is a means to uniquely identify patients and their data when the data is collected from one or more measurement devices. By providing a way to allow the patients to use multiple sources to collect data, the system described herein provides patients with more flexibility, which should encourage better compliance to protocols. Further, by having a way to uniquely identify patients' data without requiring a patient to only use one analyte meter, for example, data can be centralized and analysis can be done with more assurance that all of the patient's data is being considered in the analyses.

  • Patent number: 9704158
Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for authenticating transactions conducted over computer networks, e.g., online banking transactions or other transactions performed by a financial institution at a customer's request. After receiving a transaction request (and associated transaction details), the transaction signing service signs the transaction data and sends the resulting blob to the user requesting the transaction. After being transmitted to the user, the signed transaction data itself is then signed using PKI credentials of the user, which then returns the twice-signed bundle to the financial institution. Rather than rely on the cryptographic signature of the client, the financial intuition (or other replying party) validates that the transaction data signed using its own highly trusted key has not been altered prior to being signed and returned by the client.

  • Patent number: 9704208
Abstract: Healthcare appointment information system and method enabling a patient to manage multiple accounts with third party sources through a single account. A user account is created for storing individual user healthcare data such as user preferences (e.g., Monday morning appointments or willingness to be placed on waiting lists), user names and passwords (for accessing third-party sources), contact information (phone, email, text), insurance plans, gender, age, medications, existing appointments and other healthcare information enabling the system to book an appointment on behalf of the patient on one or more availability sources. In addition to booking on the patient's behalf, the account information also enables patient communications with the various sources to be conducted through the system. For example, notifications from other availability sources can be transmitted through the system, which may reformat the message and communicate the reformatted message to the patient.

  • Patent number: 9529975
Abstract: A medical information processing system including an input part, a sound analyzer, a state detector, determination information storage, and an association processor. Upon receiving plural types of medical information via sound input respectively, the medical information processing system can distinguish the plural types of medical information by a simple operation. The input part receives the medical information via sound input. The sound analyzer analyzes the received sound and converts it into character strings. The state detector detects plural states of the input part, respectively. The determination information storage stores in advance determination information in which each of plural states is related to types of information making up a medical record. The association processor identifies the type corresponding to the detected state based on the determination information, and relates the information indicating the identified type with the character strings converted from the sound input.

  • Patent number: 9471749
Abstract: The present disclosure describes a system, method and computer readable medium capable of verifying healthcare encounters. In one embodiment, an electronic verification process is described which may utilize geographical information to determine the proximity of a health care worker to the patient during a scheduled healthcare visit. The proximity information may then be compared to a threshold value and an electronic signature screen may be presented to the patient based upon the results of the comparison. In one embodiment, a time stamp may be generated and stored to provide confirmation as to the time that the patient's electronic signature was obtained via the electronic signature screen. Verification information stored by the system may be used to simplify the verification process, hasten payments to healthcare organizations and protect against healthcare fraud.

  • Patent number: 9459113
Abstract: A system and method that provide a video-based vehicle navigation system. The system positions an arrow on the video display that shows the specific turning direction for the vehicle for route guidance purposes. To determine the proper position of the guidance arrow, the process determines a distance from the current vehicle position to the location where the vehicle needs to turn using any suitable information, such as GPS position, range measurements and map information. The process then positions the guidance arrow on the ground at the turning location in world coordinates, and projects the guidance arrow onto the image. The camera can be calibrated to the ground using various techniques, such as an online automatic calibration process that uses detected objects in the scene around the vehicle.
