  • Patent number: 6120487
Abstract: Pull-on garments provided with breathability in the side panels, the back waistband panel, and preferably the leg flap panels. The moisture vapor transmission rate of the side panels in conjunction with the overall vapor transmission rate of the rest of the absorbent article assists to reduce the incidence of heat rash and other skin problems associated with high heat and humidity conditions. Further, the use of waistbands and leg bands having lower forces to reduce pressure on the skin while relying more upon the forces of the side panels to maintain the product on the wearer further reduce these problems.
