Patent number: 11859293Abstract: Methods to partially decrease reflectivities of at least two regions on a mirror platform relative to a reflectivity of a third region are taught. A first region is defined on a surface of the mirror platform. The first region is a media display device viewing area. A second region is defined on the surface of the mirror platform. The second region is a back lit area. A first material is selectively disposed onto a rear surface of the mirror platform outside of the first region and outside of the second region. The first material increases the reflectivity of the mirror platform outside of the first region and outside of the second region. When the mirror platform is viewed from a front side a reflectivity of a third region, which is outside of the first region and outside of the second region, is greater than a reflectivity of either the first region or the second region; and a reflectivity of the first region is different than a reflectivity of the second region.Type: GrantFiled: April 4, 2021Date of Patent: January 2, 2024Assignee: ELECTRIC MIRROR, LLCInventors: James V. Patent number: 11860617Abstract: By accurately predicting industrial aging processes (IAP), such as the slow deactivation of a catalyst in a chemical plant, it is possible to schedule maintenance events further in advance, thereby ensuring a cost-efficient and reliable operation of the plant. So far, these degradation processes were usually described by mechanistic models or simple empirical prediction models. In order to accurately predict IAP, data-driven models are proposed, comparing some traditional stateless models (linear and kernel ridge regression, as well as feed-forward neural networks) to more complex stateful recurrent neural networks (echo state networks and long short-term memory networks). Additionally, variations of the stateful models are discussed. In particular, stateful models using mechanistical pre-knowledge about the degradation dynamics (hybrid models).Type: GrantFiled: November 25, 2020Date of Patent: January 2, 2024Assignee: Technische Universitaet BerlinInventors: Nataliya Yakut, Simeon Sauer, Mihail Bogojeski, Franziska Horn, Klaus-Robert Mueller
