  • Patent number: 11145409
Abstract: An automatic external defibrillator (AED) is described which is leased for an at-risk patient and designed for use in a single cardiac emergency. If the AED is in standby for a year without being deployed, the AED is removed from service and replaced with another AED. The AED requires a rescuer only to deploy the electrodes on the torso of the victim; the AED turns itself on, performs rhythm analysis and delivers a shock if needed automatically. The AED thus requires no user controls. Preferably the AED requires no on-site maintenance, as the AED communicates its readiness for use to a remote monitoring site which responds to any problems detected by self-testing. In addition to its electro-resuscitation function, the AED can be used on the chest of the victim to administer CPR compressions.

  • Patent number: 11094404
Abstract: Techniques for electronic medical record (EMR) integration are described. A middleware application may receive a command from a third-party application via an electronic network. The command may conform to a unified data format specified by a unified data model. The command may include a request to retrieve data from or write data to an EMR system. The middleware application may convert, using a mapping registrar, the command into a data format compatible with the EMR system. The middleware application may transmit, via another electronic network, the converted command to the EMR system. The middleware application may receive a response from the EMR system. The middleware application may convert, using a mapping registrar, the response into a result that may conform to the unified data format. The middleware application may transmit the converted result to the third-party application.

  • Patent number: 11069430
Abstract: Using a centralized system, it is possible to allow multiple disparate health care providers to gain a complete view of data regarding a patient's health and health care. Data accessible through such a central system can also be made available for researchers after being de-identified. Data in such a central system can not only include data culled from traditional physical and electronic medical records, but can also include data from distributed diagnostic devices, such as fitness trackers and consumer diagnostic equipment. Such a central system could potentially be accessed through applications made available to patients and health care providers and, in implementations where they are present, such applications could also be used for other purposes, such as performing interactive health evaluations and making recommendations of actions to take to maintain or restore a user's health.

  • Patent number: 10825559
Abstract: A system of validating self-administration of prescription medication by a patient wherein the prescription medication is administered over a series of timed dosages. A machine-readable optical code label such as a QR Code is affixed to an interior surface of a prescription medication container containing the prescribed medication such as the interior of the bottle cap. The container must be open to electronically read the optical code label. The label contains data associated with the prescription medication and is read by a software application installed on a smartphone. The software receives the label-embedded data and a timestamp to validate the patient is self-administering the prescription medication consistent with the series of timed dosages. An alert notification is automatically generated to a healthcare administrator responsive to a deviation in the series of timed dosages.
