  • Patent number: 10965733
Abstract: The current document is directed to efficient, distributed-search methods and subsystems within distributed computer systems, including computer systems distributed over multiple sets of geographically distributed data centers, each comprising multiple discrete computer systems, such as multi-processor servers. In one implementation, the distributed-search methods and subsystems are implemented locally within participating entities as well as within one or more distributed-search engines. Each search is directed, by a participant, to identify attribute-associated entities within, provided by, connected to, or otherwise accessible to a distributed computing system having attribute values specified or indicated by the search query. Certain attribute values are continuously collected and centrally stored by the one or more centralized distributed-search engines while other attribute values are obtained through information requests distributed among participating entities.

  • Patent number: 10922347
Abstract: A hierarchical dictionary having methods of storing words based on frequency thereof in one or more documents which includes the steps of identifying a hash value corresponding to an inputted word; storing the word in a first hash map and in a second hash map having a substantially larger word storage capacity than the first hash map based on the identified hash value; clearing the first hash map at every predetermined period or triggering event; determining whether a frequency of the word as stored in the second hash map exceeds a predetermined value; and if so, promoting the word from the second hash map to a third hash map having a substantially larger word storage capacity than the second hash map for long-term storage and later retrieval.

  • Patent number: 10909178
Abstract: Multidimensional databases are well-suited for viewing data at different levels of detail. Graph databases are well-suited for modeling data sets with complex relationships. A novel platform for analysis and planning is enabled by linking multidimensional and graph databases. Graphs are data structures stored in graph databases. Graphs use nodes and edges to model data elements, some of which are derived. A graph is traversed to derive new data elements. To perform analysis on the graph data elements, graph traversal paths are stored as tuples in a fact table. This fact table is in turn loaded into the multidimensional database by mapping the fact table's attribute columns to dimensions of the multidimensional database.

  • Patent number: 10884513
Abstract: A method and system are provided of processing a search query entered by a user of a device having a text input interface with overloaded keys. The search query is directed at identifying an item from a set of items. Each of the items has a name including one or more words. The system receives from the user an ambiguous search query directed at identifying a desired item. The search query comprises a prefix substring of at least one word in the name of the desired item. The system dynamically identifies a group of one or more items from the set of items having one or more words in the names thereof matching the search query as the user enters each character of the search query.

  • Patent number: 10885110
Abstract: Collections of music and other items, related by time, location, genre, and artist, and that are registered in a data model to provide a foundation for their curatorship, discovery, and procurement are accessed by analyzing captured sound and seeking a match based on an acoustic fingerprint. As a result of said match, a map through the history and culture of music is created for display. The map is created in an embodiment by a series of choices, where a choice is a combination of any of time, place, genre, and artist. Both expert and regular individual curators can define the maps; or the maps can be defined algorithmically. Based upon said matches, one or more animated murals depicting a fundamental combination of any of time, place, genre, and artist are provided to a user via a user interface for the navigation of music, its history, and culture.

  • Patent number: 10824463
Abstract: A hybrid storage capable of storing the image files and the service files for VMs and Containers is provided. A large files storage is placed onto a service volume. A VM image file is placed onto the large file storage and a file system is mounted on it. The small files storage is also placed onto the service volume. This way a portion of the large file storage can be seen to the management system for VMs and Containers as a part of an interface of the common file system. Thus, large files and small files reside on the same distributed storage. One file from the large file storage is dedicated as a service file. The file system is placed into this file, which is mounted into the system as a virtual disk. The small (service) files are stored on the virtual disk. This way all files are accessible by the management system for VMs and Containers.

  • Patent number: 10789231
Abstract: Systems, methods, and other embodiments associated with indexing spatial data in a distributed file system using local indexes are described. In one embodiment, a method includes dividing the spatial data into splits. Each of the splits includes a portion of the spatial data and includes additional sub-units that further sub-divide the spatial data. The example method may also include populating index records for the sub-units using metadata extracted from the spatial data. The metadata for each of the sub-units describes sub-unit characteristics of a respective one of the sub-units and split characteristics of one of the splits associated with the respective one of the sub-units. The method includes indexing the spatial data by generating local indexes using the index records with one of the local indexes for each of the splits and generating a global index that identifies the local indexes.
