  • Patent number: 11095499
Abstract: A method includes determining that data out of a peripheral device has been interrupted. In response, control signals are transmitted that cause power to not be supplied to the peripheral device and then cause power to be supplied to the peripheral device. If the peripheral device is determined to not be outputting data, whether data into the peripheral device has been restored is determined. If it is not, control signals are transmitted that cause power to not be supplied to a router and then cause power to be supplied to the router. If the router is determined to be outputting data, control signals are transmitted that cause power to not be supplied to a wireless access point that is coupled to the modem and then cause power to be supplied to the wireless access point. Whether the wireless access point is outputting data is determined.

  • Patent number: 11082984
Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive a downlink control information (DCI) message that includes a frequency domain resource allocation field to indicate allocated resource blocks (RBs) across multiple transmission configuration indication (TCI) states. The UE may identify, based at least in part on the DCI message and/or a radio resource control configuration, at least one parameter that indicates a unit of contiguous RBs over which the same precoding is used and/or a resource allocation type. The UE may assign the allocated RBs to individual TCI states among the multiple TCI states based at least in part on the unit of contiguous RBs over which the same precoding is used and/or the resource allocation type. Numerous other aspects are provided.

  • Patent number: 11082951
Abstract: Adjusting the power of an uplink transmission based on duty cycle and proximity sensor information is disclosed. The duty cycle represents the ratio of uplink transmission time slots to downlink transmission time slots in a defined period of time. Thus, if during a time period the percentage of uplink transmission is low, then not as much of a power reduction is implemented. If the percentage of uplink transmission is high, then an increased power reduction can be implemented to ensure that the MPE is not exceeded. This duty cycle information can be paired with proximity sensor data to determine whether a person is present. If no person is present, then no power reductions need to be implemented, and if a person is present, then various levels of power reduction can be implemented based on the duty cycle.

  • Patent number: 11051312
Abstract: Disclosed is a mechanism to help control which of multiple carriers a base station will serve a UE on—perhaps which carrier should be the UE's primary component carrier for carrier-aggregation service. The disclosed mechanism can apply in a scenario where a base station is configured to provide service on multiple carriers including at least a first carrier and a second carrier, and when the base station is serving one or more relays respectively on each carrier. In that scenario, the selection of a carrier on which the base station should serve a UE could be made based at least on a consideration of how many UEs are served in total by the one or more relays that the base station serves respectively on each carrier, such as by selecting the carrier having the fewest such relay-served UEs.

  • Patent number: 11032752
Abstract: Overlay apparatus for an ad-hoc/MESH communication network, the network having nodes, at least some of which are mobile with respect to other nodes. The nodes establish and abandon connections as they move with respect to one another and generally requiring relatively small bandwidth communications in order to generate and maintain an ad-hoc/MESH physical network of the nodes and the overlay apparatus, but very occasionally a large bandwidth communication is made. The overlay apparatus may reserve at least one assured protected communication path between a source node of such a relatively large bandwidth communication and at least one destination node of the relatively large bandwidth communication via one or more intervening nodes according to a current topology configuration of the connections of the ad hoc/MESH network.

  • Patent number: 11012881
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for selecting a beam mode and/or beam for communicating with one or more devices are described. The beam mode selection maybe and sometimes is between a broad beam mode of operation and a narrow beam mode of operation with respect to a particular device. Communication with one or more device may happen at a given time with the preferred beam mode and/or choice for an individual device sometimes being replaced with a beam mode and/or beam choice which is preferable from an overall system perspective, e.g., because it allows data transmission and/QoS requirements to multiple devices to be supported better than would be achieved if the preferred beam mode and/or beam selection made with respect to an individual device was used. The beam mode and/or beam selected for traffic data communication sometimes is different from the beam mode and/or beam used for communicating control channel information.

  • Patent number: 11006413
Abstract: The present disclosure describes methods and apparatuses for narrow-band communication. In some aspects, a base station determines a quantity of resource elements to allocate to a user device for wireless communication based on a state of the user device. The base station selects, from a resource block, resource elements for the user device that include the determined quantity of resource elements and a portion of subcarriers of the resource block. The base station then communicates, to the user device, an identification of the selected resource elements that includes respective frequencies and time locations of the selected resource elements within the resource block.

  • Patent number: 10980029
Abstract: A station (STA), which supports multiple spatial streams, can, and sometimes does, re-advertise the station as supporting less spatial stream (SS) than the actual number of spatial streams that the device does actually support. In some embodiments, a station's maximum advertised maximum number of spatial streams is proactively reduced based on the station's throughput being below one or more thresholds. In some embodiments, the analysis and level of spatial stream value to be reported in a re-advertisement is determined by the access point. In some other embodiments, the analysis and level of spatial stream value to be reported in a re-advertisement is determined by the station. The access point allocating its limited supported spatial streams among stations is able to more efficiently allocate the air link resources.

  • Patent number: 10966072
Abstract: In a 6G network, microservices can be utilized in the absence of a core network. For example, after a mobile device has authenticated, through its carrier network, with a transport service layer, microservices can be allocated to the mobile device without having to be transmitted via the core network. Thus, removing the core network from the process can generate a direct line of microservices from the transport layer to the end-user. Furthermore, additional microservices and/or resources can be access through a microservices library. Consequently, packets can be securely transmitted be a wireless network facilitating sending packet profile data from one to many node devices in anticipation of the packet traversing the various node devices.
