  • Patent number: 9763177
Abstract: During cell search procedure in 3GPP LTE wireless communication system it is required to detect multiple cells which may be observable by a client terminal. In conventional cell detection a client terminal may detect false cells along with true cells. The number of false cells may depend on specific conventional detection algorithm used. A method and apparatus are disclosed that use of Differential Correlation based SINR metric for filtering out false cells from the list of detected cells reported by the conventional cell detection methods. The combination of conventional cell detection and Differential Correlation SINR based false cell filtering enables significant reduction in false cells reported to the network and reduces power consumption in a client terminal.

  • Patent number: 9749856
Abstract: Methods and apparatuses for providing services for a mobile device with access to a cellular system are disclosed. In accordance with a method a mobile device sends to a cellular system a request for a service by a machine type device. The request includes information identifying the machine type device for use by the cellular system that is then used in exchange of information in relation to at least one of authentication, authorization and configuration. Information associated with configuration of a device-to-machine connection to the machine type device is then sent to the mobile device. The device-to-machine connection for use of the service is then established between the machine type device and the mobile device based on the received information. In another embodiment the mobile device contact the machine type device first and provides the machine type device with information assigned by the cellular system.

  • Patent number: 9743306
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for performance reporting in a wireless network, wherein at least one terminal is associated to a terminal report server by means of information in the terminal. Prior to initiating the performance report, information on operator identity is retrieved. The operator identity is combined with information identifying the associated terminal report server to compile a fully qualified domain name. Connectivity information to the terminal server report is requested and received from a domain name server, whereupon a performance report session to the terminal report server is initiated using the received connectivity information. The invention also relates to a terminal wherein the inventive method is applied.

  • Patent number: 9692861
Abstract: Systems and methods for assembling a mobile cellular device do not require screws or adhesives, allowing for more efficient and less wasteful rework of the device when needed. In an embodiment, one or more fixed lock elements are attached to one a screen assembly of the device (or the device housing) and a locking shaft is retained in the housing (or the screen assembly). The locking shaft includes blocking sections that block passage of the lock elements, and non-blocking sections that permit passage of at least part of each lock element. In this way, when the screen assembly is mated to the housing, each lock element aligns with and at least partially passes over one of the non-blocking sections, such that when the locking shaft is slid axially, the lock elements align with and are retained by the blocking sections.
