  • Patent number: 11375417
Abstract: A wireless User Equipment (UE) executes a user application and wirelessly exchanges signaling with a wireless communication network over a source frequency band. The UE selects a wireless network slice responsive to the signaling. The UE selects a target frequency band and a handover type based on a characteristic of the wireless network slice. The UE requests the target frequency band and the handover type by wirelessly exchanging signaling with the wireless communication network over the source frequency band. The UE wirelessly exchanges data for the user application with the wireless communication network over the target frequency band. The wireless network slice handles the data to deliver the wireless data service to the wireless UE for the user application. The UE and the wireless communication network use the handover type to handover the wireless UE during the delivery of the wireless data service.

  • Patent number: 11356553
Abstract: An availability-based telephonic transmission/reception calling service method is provided for communicating with a person who has a different lifestyle or who may not be available at a specific call time. When a receiver inputs the receiver's characteristic information and reception/communication availability information into a server, the server acquires and sets the reception/communication availability information. An originator fetches contact information in a memory medium within a device or contact information to be displayed in a separate service on the Internet and selects a receiver. When the contact information of the selected receiver is stored on the server, the server acquires the receiver's reception/communication availability information and displays whether the receiver can receive a call on a screen of an originator's communication device.

  • Patent number: 11343732
Abstract: When a first radio of a UE has an air-interface connection with an access node on a first carrier and the UE encounters a trigger for the UE to scan for and report to the access node coverage on a second carrier, a second radio of the UE, rather than the first radio of the UE, will conduct the scanning, and the first radio of the UE will then report to access node over the air-interface connection on the first carrier a result of the scanning conducted by the second radio. Optimally, the first radio of the UE thus need not tune away from its air-interface connection with the access node in order for the UE to scan for target coverage on the second carrier. And the process could thereby help avoid the interruption of communication between the UE and the access node on the air-interface connection over the first carrier.

  • Patent number: 11284322
Abstract: An SeNB informs an MeNB that it can configure bearers for the given UE. At this time, the MeNB manages the DRB status, and then sends a key S-KeNB to the SeNB. The MeNB also sends a KSI for the S-KeNB to both of the UE and the SeNB. After this procedure, the MeNB informs an EPC (MME and S-GW) about the new bearer configured at the SeNB, such that the S-GW 50 can start offloading the bearer(s) to the SeNB 30. Prior to the offloading, the EPC network entity (MME or S-GW) performs verification that: 1) whether the request is coming from authenticated source (MeNB); and 2) whether the SeNB is a valid eNB to which the traffic can be offload.
