  • Patent number: 10864890
Abstract: Upon a triggering event, an electronic key for a vehicle, comprising a microcontroller and a motion sensor to detect movement of a transponder unit, performs a first measurement resulting in a first measurement value, and compares the first measurement value to a predefined threshold value. Subsequently, the key: performs a plurality of first reference measurements to determine a first average value over the plurality of first reference measurements if the first measurement value is below the predefined threshold value; and performs a plurality of second reference measurements to determines a second average value over the plurality of second reference measurements, and compares the second average value with the first average value if the first measurement value equals or is above the predefined threshold value. The electronic key is considered as moving if a difference between the second average value and the first average value is greater than a third threshold.

  • Patent number: 10844629
Abstract: Determining a position of a deadbolt used to lock and unlock a door is disclosed. An electromechanical lock can include a deadbolt that can retract or extend along a linear path as the door is to be locked and unlocked. A sensor such as an accelerometer can rotate along a non-linear path as the deadbolt moves along a linear path. The accelerometer can determine a gravity vector that can be indicative of a position of the accelerometer along the non-linear path. A controller can then determine a position of the deadbolt based on the gravity vector.

  • Patent number: 10839627
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided that include a control module of a vehicle. The control module instructs at least one of a beacon and a plurality of sensors to broadcast a ping signal in response to a user device being within a threshold distance of the vehicle. The plurality of sensors communicate signal information to the control module, and the signal information indicates an amount of reflection of the ping signal measured by the plurality of sensors. A sensor calibration module (i) determines a presence of a reflective element based on the signal information, and (ii) in response to determining the presence of the reflective element and the user device being connected to a communication gateway of the control module, adjusts a measurement of a first sensor of the plurality of sensors based on the signal information.

  • Patent number: 10810816
Abstract: An information-based access control system for facilities. The control system includes a mobile app and securely connected central server, which is cloud-based. The app collects and transmits multiple biometric and other authentication factors and the facility enabling the server to verify identity and check to ensure the person is authorized to obtain access. If so, the server issues a limited-duration access token, which can be displayed to the facility guards and transmitted to signal lights and electronic gates to obtain access quickly, conveniently, inexpensively, and securely. Because the user can obtain the access token prior to arriving at the gate (asynchronously), throughput increases and traffic won't back up.

  • Patent number: 10770917
Abstract: Each one of code modulators modulates first power to generate a code-modulated wave using a modulation code based on a code sequence, and transmits the code-modulated wave to one of code demodulators. Each one of code demodulator receives the code-modulated wave from one of the code modulators, and demodulates the received code-modulated wave to generate second power using a demodulation code based on a code sequence identical to the code sequence of the modulation code used. When power is transmitted between each one of transmitter and receiver pairs, a controller selects and assigns code sequences to the transmitter and receiver pairs, so as to reduce an average of an absolute value of a total current of the code-modulated waves of the transmitter and receiver pairs in a transmission path, as compared to a reference value, the average being averaged over a predetermined time.

  • Patent number: 10755509
Abstract: Disclosed are an apparatus and method that enables an owner/administrator to manage access to a shared resource based on identity that is established by use of biometric data. For example, access to a shared physical resource can be restricted via use of a biometric locking device. An access management platform can be used to authorize a new user to access the shared resource. Once authorized, the new user can unlock the biometric locking device based on, for example, fingerprint data of his finger. The access management platform can similarly be used to manage access to a virtual shared resource, such as an online account. A virtual locking device, such as a computer that acts as an intermediary between the user and the online account, can be used to restrict access to the online account. The access management platform can enable the user to access the online account based on biometric data.
