  • Patent number: 11094409
Abstract: According to one embodiment, a system includes a medical device configured to provide a function to a user, communicate via a wireless communication channel with one or more other devices, and send a signal to shift a medical device application from a locked state to an unlocked state. The system also includes a computing device having wireless communication channels and a processor and logic integrated with and/or executable by the processor. The logic is configured to cause the computing device to communicate with the medical device, execute the medical device application, and shift from the locked state to the unlocked state in response to receiving the signal from the medical device. Core functionality of the medical device application is disabled when the medical device application is in the locked state, and some functionality applicable to the medical device is enabled when the medical device application is in the unlocked state.

  • Patent number: 11086609
Abstract: A patient monitoring system includes a physiological sensor to sense light after it has passed through tissue of a patient and generate a signal indicative a physiological parameters in response to the sensed light, and a patient monitoring device in communication with the physiological sensor to receive the signal and determine measurements of the physiological parameters from the received signal. The patient monitoring device includes a processor and memory having multiple system images. The patient monitoring device downloads an image upgrade to one system image that the not latest used or tested system image. The patient monitoring device boots the processor from the system image that includes the image upgrade. If the upgraded system image fails, the patient monitoring device boots the processor from another system image of the multiple system images. The patient monitoring device repairs the failed system image.

  • Patent number: 11037669
Abstract: The disclosed system calculates a single score for a consumable that indicates the nutritional health of that consumable. Nutritional health in one embodiment is an indication of whether nutrients within a consumable are within a healthy range that is specific to a user based on a recommended caloric intake. The system determines the impact on the individual's nutritional health by determining whether the nutritional content of a consumable falls within a range customized to the individual. The disclosed system thus tracks and displays the impact of consumables on individuals personalized nutritional requirements. The disclosed system also generates nutritional advice, enabling the individual to discover the impact of changes to nutritional habits on the individual's overall nutritional health. In an embodiment, the disclosed system determines and displays consumables that would need to be consumed to meet an individual's nutritional health needs over a specified period, such as in a given day.

  • Patent number: 10930378
Abstract: A computing system can implement a health verification and prediction service by generating an interactive user interface through which users can provide responses to health assertions in one or more trivia sessions. Each of the health assertions can include a correlation value to actual health outcomes based on responses received from individuals a control group and the known health outcomes of those individuals. Based on the responses from the user, the computing system can generate a health profile for the user.

  • Patent number: 10910109
Abstract: A computing system can execute a correlation model for a library of health assertions to configure a correlation value for each health assertion. The correlation value comprises a correlation between knowledge associated with the health assertion and known health outcomes of individuals in a control group who have also provided responses to the health assertions. The computing system provides a health trivia session for users and based at least in part on the performance of the user, generates a mortality outcome profile that is used to classify the user in an underwriting class.

  • Patent number: 10679752
Abstract: An estimate is made of a time since a given presenting cancer would have first been detectable using a known diagnostic technique, and an estimate is also made of initial characteristics of the given presenting cancer at the time when it would have first been detectable using the known diagnostic technique. A first probability of the cancer being present in a first set of one or more clinically significant remote sites is determined based on the estimated initial characteristics. A second probability of the cancer being present in the first set of one or more clinically significant remote sites is determined based on actual current characteristics of the given presenting cancer. The first and second probabilities are used to estimate incremental risk of incurring presence of the cancer at the first set of one or more clinically significant remote sites by delaying therapy for a unit time.
