Abstract: A distributed system is run in a device in the method. The distributed system includes a system service, a first-type service located at an upper layer of the system service, and a second-type service located at an upper layer of the first-type service and having an interface display function. Both the first-type service and the second-type service are atomic services. A second device migrates a teaching video to a first device, and the first device plays the teaching video. A second-type service in the first device may call a first-type service in another device, to control the another device to capture a user action picture video, process the teaching video and the user action picture video to obtain teaching guidance, and play the teaching guidance.

Abstract: Systems and methods are presented herein for generating an augmented reality (“AR”) display with user interface (“UI”) elements that respond to changes in pupil characteristics in response to detecting device streaming content. A media stream playing on a device that is within a threshold distance of the AR device is detected. The source of the media stream is identified. The AR device queries the source of the media stream for a consumption option. An AR overlay is generated and comprises selectable UI elements corresponding to the consumption options. In response to receiving an input at a UI element, the AR overlay is generated based on the consumption option.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium, for the selection, provision and display of one or more digital components during display of content. Methods can include identifying a plurality of digital components that can be presented on the client device. A maximum number of digital components that can be presented in a slot of a content and the time duration of the slot is determined. For each digital component a score is generated based on the duration, position requirement and the number of times the digital component is available for provision within the slot is generated. A first set of digital component is selected based on the scores and provided to the client device.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus are described that enable consumers of media content to identify and navigate to content of interest. A graphical user interface (GUI) is provided in association with media content in which entities (e.g., keywords or distinct speakers) represented in the media content are presented in relation to the media timeline of the media content.

Abstract: A method of controlling, from a user device, a manner in which program content is received from a content server. The method includes: transmitting, from the user device, at least one transmission-quality-of-service (TXQ) parameter to the content server, wherein the at least one TXQ parameter updates a default TXQ parameter at the content server; and in response to transmitting the at least one TXQ parameter, receiving new program content in accordance with the at least one TXQ parameter.

Abstract: Systems and methods for generating a reply to a query are provided. A query about an event in a content recording during playback of the content recording is received. A type of the event based on the query is determined. A playback position in a timeline of the content recording is determined. Based on the type of the event, an event distribution table is obtained, the table comprising one or more event identifiers and one or more corresponding occurrence times for the one or more event identifiers in the timeline of the content recording. The playback position of the content recording to the one or more occurrence times is compared. A reply to the query is generated, for aural or visual presentation, the reply being based on a result of the comparing, the reply comprising data about at least one event corresponding to the one or more event identifiers.

Abstract: A system and method may analyze an input video content to produce analysis results. An event captured in the input video content may be identified based on the analysis results. A start time and an end time of a segment of the input video content, the segment including the event, may be determined and, an output video content may be generated by including the segment in the output video content.

Abstract: The disclosure relates to modem and router modules for use with digital display systems, including televisions. A modem module is configurable to attach to a set-top box, a set-back box, directly to a digital display, or may even be integrated into display equipment. Router functions and ports can be integrated into the module to provide for networking of additional devices in proximity to the module and/or display, using either or both wired and wireless access technologies. Systems including the module convert power to the appropriate forms for delivery to the different devices, hardware, and components associated with the module. The modem and routing functions are configurable to provide separate security domains to isolate or direct traffic among the various networked devices.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides techniques of preloading video data. The techniques comprises acquiring a video to be played; acquiring information indicative of historical behaviors of users who watched the video; segmenting the video into a plurality of video segments; determining a historical search rate corresponding to each of the plurality of video segments based on the information indicative of the historical behaviors of the users; and determining a video segment among the plurality of video segments as a first target video segment based on the historical search rate corresponding to each of the plurality of video segments, wherein the video segment has a historical search rate greater than or equal to a preset probability threshold; and preloading the first target video segment of the video.

Abstract: An encoder may determine one or more encoding characteristics associated with a content segment of a content asset. The one or more encoding characteristics may comprise an estimated bitrate required for transmission of the content segment over a network. The one or more encoding characteristics associated with the content segment may be inserted into a portion of an other content segment, such as into a header of the other content segment. The content segment and the other content segment may be configured for linear transmission, such as using adaptive bitrate streaming. When the other content segment is received at a playback device prior to the content segment, the playback device may use the one or more encoding characteristics of the content segment embedded in the header of the other content segment to determine one or more playback characteristics of the content segment.

Abstract: Devices, servers, systems and methods for content protection are provided. Disclosed embodiments improve temporal granularity of controlling access to the protected content and increase resilience against attacks attempting to prevent re-evaluation of conditions of access. Enforcement of re-evaluation may be based on the receipt and/or verification of tokens. In some embodiments, re-evaluation is enforced by periodically rendering content keys required for content decryption unuseable and/or clearing content keys already in use.

Abstract: A video monitoring system can include multiple collectors to receive video beacon data from multiple video monitoring interface modules. At least one beacon stream is connected to receive data from multiple collectors. A processing module receives the beacon stream and provides a real-time event stream used for real-time data analysis and a video view stream used for long-term data analysis.

Abstract: Provided is a mobile information terminal that performs data transmission and reception, the data transmission and reception including video data reception. Abstract: Various embodiments described herein support or provide for cultural distance prediction operations of a media asset, such as determining events in a media asset, determining geographical region corresponding to the culture of origin and the culture of destination, accessing weight values of cultural attribute categories respectively associated with the geographical regions of the culture of origin and the culture of destination, generating cultural distance score of events, and causing display of the cultural distance score on a user interface of a client device.

Abstract: Examples of the present disclosure relate to content delivery using distributed ledger and AI-based transcoding technologies. In examples, content is received by a content distribution network (CDN) from a content source. The content may be in a lower-quality or different format than is distributed via the CDN. Accordingly, a transcoding model is identified and used to transcode the content. Multiple transcoding models may be used for different content parts to adapt to changing content types (e.g., a sports subpart, an advertising subpart, etc.). Transcoding may occur at edge nodes, such that the original content is transmitted within the CDN, thereby conserving resources. Additionally, transcoded content may be cached, such that the content need not be transcoded in response to every request.

Abstract: A remote storage digital video recorder (RSDVR) retains multiple copies of media programs so long as the copies are expected to be useful to at least one user. Rather than assigning copies to specific users at the time the program is recorded, copies can be assigned as the users request access to the particular media programs. Copies of unassigned programs can be deleted according to a schedule to reduce disk storage and processing demands on the system. A pool of program copies that are not initially assigned to particular users can be maintained until the user makes a specific request to view the program. This “late assignment” of program copies can substantially reduce the amount of data stored by the RSDVR system without substantially impacting the viewer experience.

Abstract: Systems and methods for generating notification interfaces synchronized with broadcast events and local interactions are disclosed. The system can receive a plurality of interactions corresponding to a conditional event opportunity of a live event from a respective plurality of client devices, and identify a broadcast receiver device that is presenting a broadcast of the live event. The system can generate instructions for a broadcast receiver device that causes an application executing on the broadcast receiver device to display one or more content items corresponding to the conditional event opportunity. The system can transmit the instructions to the broadcast receiver device to cause the application to display the one or more content items with the broadcast of the live event.

Abstract: An illustrative example embodiment of a method includes determining that at least one first condition is satisfied indicating that a subscriber is an event attendee, determining that at least one second condition is satisfied indicating that the subscriber is at least likely to desire observing media representing at least a portion of the event, and providing the media representing at least the portion of the event to a portable subscriber device based on the first condition and the second condition being satisfied.

Abstract: The present application discloses techniques for interaction during live video streaming. The techniques comprise obtaining and playing streamer-end video data, and user-end video data captured by a user terminal in real time; monitoring and recognizing whether the streamer-end video data comprise a preset voice instruction; determining whether the user-end video data comprises a target audio or a target video when the streamer-end video data comprises the preset voice instruction; and displaying a video special effect corresponding to the preset voice instruction in a user video when the user-end video data comprise the target audio or the target video. By means of the present application, a video special effect can be played for a user video according to a result of interaction between a streamer and a user, which enriches the way of interaction presentation and enhances the sense of participation in interaction.

Abstract: Methods and systems are described for downloading media assets efficiently and quickly before loss of network connectivity. The method may allow a user to download portions of a media asset in different versions to download a maximum portion of the media asset before loss of network connectivity. Certain versions of media assets may be downloaded more quickly than other versions of media assets. The method may also allow a user to view partially downloaded media assets without network connectivity. The method may also replace portions of media assets downloaded in a first version with portions of the media assets in a second version once network connectivity is restored.
