  • Patent number: 11956536
Abstract: Methods and imaging devices are disclosed for reducing defocus events occurring during autofocus search operations. For example, one method includes capturing a plurality of frames depicting a scene with an imaging device, selecting a portion of the scene of at least one frame that corresponds to an object of the scene, and detecting a change in the scene. The method further includes detecting a distance between the object and the imaging device for each of the plurality of frames, determining a lens position for each frame based on the determined distance of each frame and moving a lens toward the lens position of each frame while the scene continuously changes. The method also includes determining the scene is stable and initiating an autofocus search operation based on the determination that the scene is stable.

  • Patent number: 11930294
Abstract: Methods and systems described herein generate content that quickly cycles between different-colored frames at a rapid rate that may be imperceptible to human viewers. The human eye tends to blend nearby frames together, so that a human viewer will see a full color spectrum even though only a single color is displayed at any given time. The video display may repeatedly cycle between individual color frames, thus providing video content that appears normal to a human viewer. However, a video recording device may capture only some of the color frames. Therefore, the video recorded by video recording devices may include undesirable color flicker or other color artifacts, which may deter unauthorized copying.

  • Patent number: 11917332
Abstract: Content streams may be segmented to provide automatic extraction and storage of content items without intervening commercials or other unrelated content. These content items may then be stored in a database and made accessible to subscribers through, for example, an on-demand service. Automatic segmentation may include the identification of program boundaries, segmentation of a content stream based on the boundaries and the subsequent classification of the segments into content types. For example, audio and video duplication detection may be used to identify commercials since commercials tend to repeat frequently over a relatively short amount of time. A system may further identify an end of program indicator in a video stream to determine when a program ends. Accordingly, if a program ends after a scheduled end time, a recording device (e.g., the program is being recorded) may automatically extend the recording time to capture the entire program.

  • Patent number: 11895439
Abstract: A method for automatically authenticating unknown video data based on known video data stored at a client server is provided, wherein, unknown and known video data each are made up of segments and include metadata, a hash message digest, and a serial code. The method involves selecting a first segment of the unknown video and locating the serial code within the first segment of the unknown video data. The serial code is used to locate a corresponding first segment in the known video data. The first segment may include a known hash message digest. A new hash message digest for the first segment of the unknown video data is generated and compared with the known hash message digest. If they match, the segment of unknown video data is authentic.

  • Patent number: 11862199
Abstract: Systems and methods provide for advanced video editing techniques using sampling patterns. In one example, a computing device can receive a selection of a clip of a video and a sampling pattern. The computing device can determine a respective number of frames to sample from the clip for each interval of time over a length of time for a new clip. For example, the computing device can determine a function corresponding the pattern that relates time and the number of frames to sample, a histogram corresponding to the pattern, or a definite integral corresponding to the pattern, among other approaches. The computing device can extract these numbers of frames from the clip and generate the new clip from the extracted frames. The computing device can present the new clip as a preview and send the new clip to other computing devices.
