  • Patent number: 10933381
Abstract: The very purpose of an improved oil recovery or an enhanced oil recovery method is to mobilize oil from an oil-bearing formation as stable wet oil emulsion to an oil gathering center. Yet, the very purpose of the latter is to de-stabilize such a stable emulsion using a multitude of redundant oil-water separation steps and bulky equipment. Methods are herein provided for preparing a material for casting a flat-sheet, extruding a solid-fiber, and/or extruding a hollow-fiber utilizing an aqueous amine solution as an effective solvent to form a crystalline polymorph structure of the material. This material in the form of, for example, an effective and selective oil-wet membrane can be used to simultaneously de-mix oil and water phases from a wet oil emulsion, whether the emulsion is stable or instable.

  • Patent number: 10926222
Abstract: Dumping a reverse osmosis (RO) reject stream from a wastewater treatment and reclamation plant (WWTRP) into the sea directly destroys aquatic life and indirectly affects public health. This triggers solving the problem by methods and systems provided herein. One embodiment begins with utilizing two types of waste; one is the RO reject stream in its entirety, and the other is letdown steam from once-through-steam-generators (OTSGs) or steam from a standalone OTSG fueled by co-produced sour gas. It ends with thermally sterilizing toxicity and isolating it by the alkalinity content of the RO reject stream itself, combating sulfate scale and recovering it as a useful product, and producing distillate for heavy oil recovery by steam injection and de-scaled brine for improved oil recovery by water flooding. The vehicle to attain this set of solutions is a recycle-brine multi-stage flash (RB-MSF) desalination train with two modified flashing stages.

  • Patent number: 10913691
Abstract: The Earthginuity Composting System is an organic waste composting system. It consists of three steps/components. The first step is using a free-standing cylindrical tube that goes in the kitchen. Organic waste goes into the tube. The second step is the Phase 1 Bin. It is a square-shaped plastic bin that sits on raw earth, and it's about thirty three gallons in volume. It has drainage holes at the bottom and two pegs protruding from the front to serve as “anchors” for dumping. The final component is the two Earth Grids. They are three by three feet, sandbox-like squares with NO bottoms and liquid-tight lids. The lack of a bottom to the Earthgrids allows for sitting on raw earth to attract ground bugs/bacteria. The lids have rain holes. You can open, close, and empty the Earth Grids with a Shepherd's Staff (hooked pole).

  • Patent number: 10898602
Abstract: A system that deodorizes gear, padding, or other apparel by killing the bacteria that cause odor. Articles to be deodorized are placed within a re-sealable airtight bag along with highly pure anhydrous ethanol. As the ethanol vaporizes, the gaseous ethanol readily dissolves within the aqueous environment that envelops the bacteria. Ethanol levels within this moisture gradually increase and eventually become bactericidal.

  • Patent number: 10889940
Abstract: An asphalt processing system is formed from a heating drum and an induction heating system. Flights move asphalt through the heating drum, which concurrently heat the asphalt along with the heating drum wall. A mixing drum can be connected to the heating drum, and include paddles or flights to move the asphalt, while concurrently mixing the material to ensure consistent temperatures through the asphalt cement. The asphalt is heating using one or more induction heating systems to quickly heat the asphalt to between 275° F. and 750° F., followed by moving the asphalt to between 275° F. and 350° F. The system can include a convection system that heats recirculated air through the heating drum. A water condenser can be employed to remove moisture during air recirculation, and reduce asphalt moisture content. The asphalt cement is optionally modified by addition of one or more rejuvenation oils. This system is particularly useful for recycled asphalt pavement, but can be used for all asphalt products.

  • Patent number: 10856517
Abstract: A device for melting cheese in a microwave or oven and then shaping the melted cheese into a bowl-shape form as it cools and hardens to contain salads, snacks, eggs, and the like. The self-supporting base component has dowel-affixing mechanisms to couple a sheet of non-stick flexible heat-resistant material taut over the hollow center of the self-supporting base. A layer of cheese is placed on the sheet of non-stick flexible heat-resistant material and melted in a microwave or oven. Once melted and removed from the microwave or oven, the sheet of non-stick flexible heat-resistant material is decoupled and the bowl-shape form is pressed into the melted cheese on the sheet of non-stick flexible heat-resistant material and into the void beneath the self-supporting base component, conforming the cheese to the bowl-shape form. The cheese cools and hardens permanently taking on the bowl shape.
