  • Patent number: 5228587
Abstract: A cap quickly sealing a distribution pipe of a vacuum chamber having a flange includes a cup shaped body that fits over the flange and contains a sealing disc with O-ring that presses against the flange surface. The cap is locked to the flange by steel balls that partially pass through holes in the body and wedge under the inserted flange, the balls being held or released by an outer sleeve with two interior ball races of a large and a smaller diameter so that drawing up the sleeve will permit the balls to enter the large diameter race and fall back to release a flange in the body.

  • Patent number: 4915246
Abstract: A non-vent type fully openable easy-opening end has a principal score around the periphery of the end, and a pair of beads which run in a tearing direction. The pair of beads is formed symmetrically at both sides of a tab securing portion of the end which is in the vicinity of the tab securing score. A pair of second beads may also be formed on the periphery of a removable portion of the end which is defined by the principal score in such a manner that they run along the principal score. The second beads are located symmetrically on both sides of the tab securing portion. A straight line l that connects the forward end of the tab securing portion and the starting end of each of the first beads or the starting end of each of the second beads is inclined with respect to the tearing direction at an angle ranging between 45 degrees and 85 degrees.

  • Patent number: 4801030
Abstract: A tamper-indicating closure and package comprising a one-piece molded closure of plastic which threads onto a container such that when the closure is unthreaded, a tamper-indicating band becomes separated from the lower end of the closure skirt. The tamper-indicating band is joined to the closure along a weakened frangible line. A flexible annular wall is formed within the band and extends inwardly and upwardly when the closure is applied to container finish. The band further includes a plurality of circumferentially spaced flexible walls extending circumferentially and fastened at their circumferential ends to the inner surface of the annular wall and having portions intermediate their ends which extend radially inwardly.
