Abstract: A driving state monitoring device includes: an acquisition unit that acquires line-of-sight information indicating a line-of-sight of a driver and driving state information indicating a state of driving by the driver; a calculation unit that calculates a line-of-sight range of the driver in a predetermined driving state based on the line-of-sight information and the driving state information; and a determination unit that determines an insufficient visual observation range based on a recommended line-of-sight range and the line-of-sight range of the driver, the insufficient visual observation range being a range in which visual observation by the driver is insufficient, the recommended line-of-sight range being a line-of-sight range recommended for the predetermined driving state.
Abstract: A method for providing vehicle alerts includes receiving an ignition signal indicating a current status of an ignition of a vehicle and receiving a gear position signal indicating a current gear position of a transmission of the vehicle. The method also includes receiving a vehicle speed signal indicating a current vehicle speed of the vehicle and identifying a vehicle alert data file based on at least the ignition signal, the gear position signal, the vehicle speed signal. The method also includes retrieving the vehicle alert data file from a vehicle alert database and loading data associated with the vehicle alert data file into a buffer. The method also includes outputting contents of the buffer to at least one output device of the vehicle.
Abstract: An improved system and method for detecting smoke using a sensor is disclosed. The method can comprise the steps of storing in memory a plurality of smoke signatures, wherein each of the smoke signatures relates to how the sensor senses one of a plurality of particulates, each of the plurality of particulates indicative or non-indicative of a fire, and receiving current data from the sensor. Moreover, the method can comprise the steps of comparing the current data with the plurality of smoke signatures to determine if the current data matches any of the plurality of smoke signatures, and initiating an alarm sequence based at least in part on a determination as to whether the current data matches a smoke signature related to a fire-indicative particulate of the plurality of particulates.

Abstract: A system for automatic controlling of sonic and visual warnings on a vehicle is provided. The system uses a controller and software configured to the task of initiating sonic and light emission warnings of vehicle movement to surrounding workers in the area of the vehicle. Signals from engaged light and sound sensors may be employed to alter the sonic warnings to a more easily heard frequency and the light emitted warnings to a more easily seen color and brightness.

Abstract: System and method for providing a warning to a driver when a tanker truck is in a potential hose drive-off situation. The system and method are designed to detect when a hose or other conduit is in close proximity or attached to the tanker truck and alert the driver. This hose drive-off warning system and method may also physically prevent the vehicle from driving away in some embodiments while the hose or other conduit is still attached to the vehicle.
Abstract: A system for implementing strobing of existing vehicle hazard lights including an interface to a vehicle wiring harness configured to receive input to an existing vehicle flasher module, and a strobing circuit that responds to an activation signal from the vehicle wiring harness that is indicative of a hazard flasher deployment event by producing an electrical output through the interface to the vehicle wiring harness that causes a strobing of existing vehicle hazard lamps.

Abstract: Systems and methods are presented for reducing electrical interference in measurement-while-drilling (“MWD”) data. An example may include, among other features a MWD data acquisition system including an analog data reception for receiving analog MWD data, an analog-to-digital conversion circuit, at least one isolation circuit for electrically isolating the analog data reception circuit and the analog-to-digital conversion circuit from a digital data transmission circuit. In some embodiments, a power isolation circuit may electrically isolate an analog section power domain from a digital section power domain. The isolation techniques may improve the quality of the analog signal received.

Abstract: In an example, a system for indicating alignment between two components that are mechanically coupled to each other is disclosed. The system includes a first component, a second component, a connector configured to mechanically couple the first component to the second component by moving the connector from a first position to a second position, a first circuit affixed to the first component, and a second circuit affixed to the connector. The first circuit and the second circuit are positioned on the first component and the connector, respectively, such that an electrical connection between the first circuit and the second circuit occurs when the connector is in the second position and the first component and the second component are aligned. The first circuit or the second circuit comprises an antenna, and the electrical connection enables the antenna to transmit a signal.

In one aspect, a method includes the actions of receiving doorbell data indicating activation of a doorbell of a property. The actions further include determining a security status associated with the monitoring system. Abstract: Various switchable RFID devices are disclosed. These switchable RFID devices may include one or more RFID tags and one or more switches. Some of these one or more switches are optionally wireless. Abstract: The present invention discloses a system and method to reserve and park a vehicle in a parking lot via an application through a smartphone. The system comprises a parking meter installed at the parking lot to prevent unauthorized access of vehicle to the reserved parking lot. The parking meter could communicate to a server via a wireless communication for reserving a parking lot. The application could identify the user's location and allows the user to communicate or engage the parking meter at the parking lot via the navigation system. The parking meter comprises a housing, a camera, a chip reader, displays, a plurality of backlight panels, NFC, and ultrasonic sensor. The parking meter authorizes the vehicle's number and provides access to the parking lot. The user could pay for the usage of the parking lot via the application or the chip reader or NFC of the parking meter.

The object information acquiring unit acquires delivery object information of an object from a deliverer of the object. The object is stored in an interior space of a vehicle and of which delivery is desired. The receiver information acquiring unit acquires receiver information on a receiver of the object. Abstract: Methods, systems and devices are provided for displaying monitored activity data in substantial real-time on a screen of a computing device. One example method includes capturing motion data associated with activity of a user via an activity tracking device. The motion data is quantified into a plurality of metrics associated with the activity of the user. The method includes connecting the activity tracking device with a computing device over a wireless data connection, and sending motion data from the activity tracking device to the computing device for display of one or more of the plurality of metrics on a graphical user interface of the computing device. At least one of the plurality of metrics displayed on the graphical user interface is shown to change in substantial real-time based on the motion data.

Abstract: A system includes a plurality of RFID chips affixed to a catheter, a data collection engine device, and a server device. The data collection engine wirelessly transmits power to a first one of the RFID chips and receives first medical data from the first RFID chip while the first RFID chip is activated by the power receiver. The data collection engine generates a first message indicative of the first medical data to be sent to the server device. The server device can determine aspects of the catheter such as position and risk states based upon the first medical data.
Abstract: A method and system for detecting and using intentional gestures utilizing a six-axis inertial measurement unit (IMU) provides individuals with limited motor abilities the ability to control multiple devices. The system responds to small intentional gestures produced by any part of the user's body. Unlike existing game controllers and adapted mouse devices, the system has the ability to learn the unique kinematic characteristics of the user's gestures.
