  • Patent number: 11721170
Abstract: A system for managing bets comprises a memory and a processor. The memory stores one or more first type of bets and one or more second types of bets. Each first type of bet is associated with a bet amount and comprises a bet that a participant selected from a set of participants in an event will finish in a predetermined subset of finishing positions associated with the event. Each second type of bet is associated with a bet amount and comprises a bet that the selected participant will not finish in the predetermined subset of finishing positions associated with the event. The processor adds the bet amounts associated with the first type of bets with the bet amounts associated with the second type of bets to form a betting pool. The processor determines an amount of a payout based at least in part on the betting pool.

  • Patent number: 11715389
Abstract: Disclosed is a braille display that is impact resistant and that employs a modular construction. The impact resistance is achieved, in part, by molded and resilient end caps. Each end cap includes a centrally positioned slit that functions in absorbing lateral impacts to the display. The impact resistance is further achieved by an over molded housing that is positioned about an associated USB connector. The modularity of the display is achieved by way of a subassembly that is releasably secured within the interior of a main housing. The subassembly, in turn, includes a series of cell compartments that are arranged in groups. Each group of cell compartments is controlled by an individual shift register. This allows a grouping cell compartments to be removed and replaced as needed without disturbing the remaining cell components.

  • Patent number: 11707678
Abstract: A non-limiting example game system includes a processor incorporated in a main body apparatus, and the processor makes a player character hit a ball according to an operation of a player. A movement gauge is displayed in a parameter determination screen, and the movement gauge includes a belt-shaped basic area and a risk area outside the basic area. A first index image is moved inside the basic area, and a hitting power is determined at a position that the movement is stopped by an operation of the player. The hitting power affects a flight distance of a ball. After the hitting power is determined, a position of a deviation indication image displayed along the first index image is determined at random. A deviation amount is made larger as the deviation indication image is moved away from the center of the first index image. The risk area is enlarged toward an upper end of the movement gauge. That is, if the flight distance of the ball is made longer, the deviation amount may become larger.

  • Patent number: 11704873
Abstract: A method, apparatus, and computer readable storage medium directed to implementing a room scale virtual reality system which enables players to walk through a large virtual playing area in a physically limited size room. Physical tracking of a virtual reality headset is used so that the position and orientation of the virtual reality headset is identified to translate the physical player's motion into the virtual world which is displayed on the virtual reality headset. Relocation objects are placed in the virtual world so they correspond to physical location against physical walls. Relocation objects in the virtual world rotate and/or relocate the player in the virtual world which would typically cause the player in the physical world to turn around and thus walk away from the physical wall. Placement of relocation objects throughout the virtual world enable a large virtual world to be implemented using a small finite sized physical room.
