The retainer part sandwiches a sandwiched part on a proximal end side between the retainer part and an outer peripheral surface of the ultrasonic microphone, while exposing an exposed part on a tip end side in the axial direction of the cushion member. The waterproof seal blocks a gap between a vehicle body component and the exposed part of the cushion member in an on-board state.

A cover structure is disposed on top of the waveguide structure to conceal the waveguide structure and speaker within the exterior housing. The cover structure has a tilted bottom surface configured to be suspended above the waveguide structure and to be separated by a first space. Sound waves projected from an upper portion of the speaker are reflected by the tilted bottom surface and are guided through the first space to exit the device from a speaker grill portion located on a rear side of the exterior housing.

    Abstract: An elliptically shaped speaker has a driver assembly which may include a woofer driver and a tweeter driver. The speaker has a uniquely designed bridge member. The bridge member acts both as a structural element and waveguide for the tweeter. It has a specific elongated, elliptical shape that allows the speaker to be inserted into a corresponding cut-out opening in a wall, ceiling or any other structural panel, then rotated behind the panel and re-inserted from behind into the opening, thereby providing a secure seal and exact positioning within the panel. The resulting system allows for a low frequency speaker to be installed behind the panel with a noticeably smaller opening than the total size of the speaker.
