  • Patent number: 8957876
Abstract: According to one embodiment, an information processing apparatus includes a display with a touch panel, a camera and an image recognition module. The image recognition module recognizes a type of an object used for inputting to the touch panel in an image acquired by the camera. The image recognition module comprises a first narrowing module and a second narrowing module. The first narrowing module extracts an image to be used for recognizing the type of the object from acquired images based on timing information indicating timing of the inputting. The second narrowing module selects a recognition range to be used for recognizing the type of the object from a photographing region of the extracted image based on positional information indicating an input position on the touch panel. The timing information and the positional information is included in the input information obtained from the touch panel.

  • Patent number: 8947362
Abstract: First detection information related to electrical connection between each row signal line and each column signal line is received from a key matrix circuit (S101). Based on the first detection information, it is determined whether a possibility exists that a user has pressed at least three key switches simultaneously and electrical connection between signal lines for a key switch that has not been pressed has been erroneously detected (S108). Information in accordance with key switches pressed by the user is output based on the first detection information when the determination is negative (S109), whereas output of information based on the first detection information is blocked when the determination is positive.

Abstract: Provided is a technique capable of allowing a person to perceive a fine relief on an object surface clearly. A tactile device of a tactile display slides above an object. The tactile device comprises three rods which are free to move up and down. Lower ends of the rods are in contact with a surface of the object. Upper ends of respective rods touch a palmar-side skin equivalent to positions of three joints of a first finger or a second finger. When the tactile device is slid, upper ends of respective rods move up and down in accordance with a surface relief of the object. In response to the movement of the tactile device, the three rods push three finger joint positions of the palmar-side skin with a stroke equal to a height of the relief.
