  • Patent number: 7481493
Abstract: To promote bloodstream and reduce fatigue, a seat structure makes a slight sitting posture change by adding a minute body motion with no necessity of moving a cushion frame or a seat frame although it realizes a supporting pressure change at a wide area, not locally, in a seat cushion or a seat back. The seat structure includes a cushioning member for a seat cushion stretched across the cushion frame, and a cushioning member for a seat back stretched across the back frame. The seat structure includes: a lower cloth spring of a seat cushion or a cloth spring of a seat back stretched across the cushion frame or the back frame via a torsion bar; and a cloth spring adjusting member to change a supporting pressure by both cushioning members by adjusting tension of the lower cloth spring or the cloth spring.

  • Patent number: 7469968
Abstract: A seat assembly for a vehicle includes a first seat back and a second seat back. The seat backs are spaced apart to define a gap therebetween. Each seat back is pivotally coupled in the vehicle for independent angular adjustment relative to each other. Each of the first and second seat backs has a trim cover. The trim cover of at least one of the seat backs has a flap that conceals the gap between the seat backs. The flap is flexible to accommodate the independent angular adjustment of the seat backs relative to each other.

  • Patent number: 7469969
Abstract: This invention is related to a shielding assembly comprising a cover plate, upper and lower paddle arms, a circular plate, and a back plate for covering an opening in an arm of a recliner chair. The opening provides clearance for a drive tube that moves independently from the arm. The paddle arms are rotatably coupled to the cover plate, wherein rotation is restrained by tension devices. The circular plate is slidably disposed between the paddle arms and the back plate. The back plate is fixedly attached to the cover plate by fasteners that limit rotation of the paddle arms. In operation, if the drive tube moves upward or downward, the circular plate, having a bore circumferentially engaged to the drive shaft, moves therewith vacating a portion of the opening. One of the paddle arms may be deflected by the drive tube movement while another continues to overlie the vacated portion.

  • Patent number: 7455356
Abstract: A saddle for bicycles has a vertical swiveling unit and a horizontal sliding unit so that the saddle is moved vertically and horizontally, thus providing a sensation similar to riding a horse. The saddle includes a seat sliding unit providing on a lower surface of a seat to move the seat forward and backward, as a user moves forward and backward while sitting on the seat. A guide part with a predetermined length supports the seat sliding unit to guide a horizontal movement of the seat sliding unit, with a free end provided at a rear end of the guide part to allow the guide part to be swiveled vertically. A swiveling spring is provided at a front end of the guide part to provide a vertical elastic force to the guide part. A support part supports the swiveling spring and couples the support part to the seat support frame.

  • Patent number: 7452033
Abstract: A structure for movement of a rear catch of a double folding seat for a vehicle. The seat includes a seat frame with a front mounting structure which is fixed by a hinge coupling part including a front catch; and a rear mounting structure, including a striker, and a rear catch that is attachable to and detachable from the striker. The rear catch is movable in a lateral direction of the vehicle along connecting bars. A cable has a first end connected to the rear catch, and a second end attached to a leg frame that rotates during folding of the seat. A moving operation part connects the leg frame to the connecting bars. During folding of the seat, the cable pulls the rear catch inward and away from the door frame, providing more space for loading and unloading of the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 7448689
Abstract: A furniture member strap system includes a first strap having loop members at a first end and hook members at a second end and a first sewn area positioned between the loop members and the hook members. A second strap has opposed ends overlapping each other creating a looped end. A buckle member has an elongated aperture to receive the looped end. A strap assembly has the second end of the first strap slid through the aperture of the buckle member and the hook members releasably engaged with the loop members. The assembly joins first and second members of a furniture assembly having the first and second straps sewn to the first and second furniture members.

  • Patent number: 7438077
Abstract: An umbrella has an intermediate point of equilibrium between its fully open and closed positions, which reduces the peak force required to move the umbrella in either direction. To actuate the umbrella, a resiliently flexible steel band is able to not only carry tension to pull the umbrella open, but the band also has sufficient rigidity to operate in compression to push the umbrella closed. The band's flexibility allows it to feed through a small sidewall hole in the mast as well as snake through a hinge on an umbrella mast that can tilt. Manually sliding an actuator sleeve upward closes the umbrella. Sliding the sleeve down opens the umbrella. Although lifting to close and lowering to open may seem counterintuitive at first, such action greatly reduces the maximum force required to operate the umbrella.

  • Patent number: 7427101
Abstract: A collapsible user support coupled to a collapsible, walled shelter. One assembly provides a sling chair having a number of frame pieces that are trained through grommets at a fabric seat and backrest fitted to pivot couplers. Armrests are optionally included along with accessory supports and pockets. Pivoting link arms couple to stay or bow pieces of an independently collapsible shelter. The shelter frame pieces mount to pivot couplers and a surrounding multi-panel fabric shelter. The shelter can include windows and/or doors and/or vents with fasteners. The chair and shelter frameworks and fabric shelter are organized to collapse and deploy to several seating conditions ranging from the chair being partially to completely protected from the environment.

  • Patent number: 7354108
Abstract: A seat reclining apparatus includes an internal gear, an external gear, an eccentric drive mechanism, and a base plate. The internal gear is secured to a seatback arm. The external gear includes an external tooth portion being in meshing contact with the internal gear, the external tooth portion having a smaller number of teeth than the internal gear. The eccentric drive mechanism rotates the external gear with respect to the internal gear in meshing contact with the internal gear. The base plate is secured to a seatcushion arm. The base plate includes an internal tooth portion press-fitted to the external tooth portion of the external gear. The internal tooth portion of the base plate includes a part press-fitted to the external tooth portion of the external gear and a part loose-fitted to the external tooth portion of the external gear.
