Shoulders are provided on the upper ends of the side walls to define a stop for abutting the nail clipper in the second position.

    Abstract: A holder for a safety razor is presented which also contains a sponge reservoir. The sponge reservoir is at one end of the holder and contains lubricating fluids within the sponge and reservoir. At the other end of the safety razor holder is a handle end which is slotted. A safety razor is placed in the holder by placing the razor blade head end in the sponge reservoir and the razor handle into the holder handle slot. When the blade of the safety razor is pressed into the lubricating sponge, the fluid keeps the blade relatively free of the corrosive effects of oxidation of the air, debris from shaving or other dulling factors. The blade may be lubricated by pressing it against the lubricated sponge as needed. The effect of using the safety razor holder is to keep blades sharper, to provide smoother and more comfortable shaves, and to allow the user to apply an appropriate amount of lubricating or softening oils to the razor blade.

    Abstract: A simple miter guide uses planar sheet material to define an overlay panel, a saw guiderail and depending lumber guides and spacers which orient the lumber at a predetermined angle relative to the saw blade and space the guide over an underlying surface. The guide is designed specifically for construction lumber such as two-by-fours and two-by-sixes, and is used by placing the guide on a flat surface, and feeding the lumber into the guide from the back until it is properly aligned for the saw cut. The guide and lumber can be aligned to establish an orthogonal square-cut, or an angle-cut such as 45 degrees. A saw guiderail guides the end of the saw foot as it moves across the saw support raceway, spacing the sawblade adequately from the guide to prevent damage, and permitting an angled undercut to be made. Means to mount the guide to an underlying surface are provided, although unmounted operation is useful too.

The blade is driven by a pneumatic motor that is geared to turn first and second toothed pulleys connected by a toothed belt. The blade may be circular or lobed and mounted concentrically or offset to provide either a smooth or pulsing cutting action. The tool may also include a wiping element which removes debris from the blade edge before it enters the tool housing and a steeling element which can be actuated by the operator's thumb while the tool is being used to sharpen the blade.

    Abstract: A method and apparatus are disclosed for accurately removing preselected lengths and thicknesses of insulation from an electrical cable. This is accomplished by making a circumferential cut of preselected depth and distance from the end of the electrical cable, through the use of a guide tool in combination with a first cutting tool. Following the circumferential cut in the insulation, the end portion of the electrical cable is secured in a substantially stationary position through the use of one or more clamping devices in combination with a fixturing body. The insulation layer is then removed through the use of a cylindrical cutting tool guided by a guide body into the end of the electrical cable. This second cutting tool is forced axially along the length of the electrical cable and rotated with respect to the cable so as to perform a circular cutting of the cable insulation in an axial direction from the end of the electrical cable to the location of the previous circumferential cut.

The side members are positioned adjacent opposite sides of the handle and the resiliency of the guard forces the inner surfaces of the side members into engagement with the engaging surface of the handle. The guard is movably along the engaging surface in response to sliding movement of the guard relative to the handle. In a further form, the guard is slidable into a permanently locked position relative to the handle, thereby preventing reuse of the scalpel and inadvertent exposure of the blade.

The cutting portion comprises a hardened tool-steel insert forming the tool's cutting edge. The surface of each member is hard chrome plated except for the hardened tool-steel cutting edge. Each member comprises a recessed portion of complementary size and configuration to accommodate interaction between the members. A washer resides between each member to accommodate unwanted space and a screw is used to hingedly join each member together so that the cutting edges are aligned in an opposed fashion directed toward each other. The tool's cutting portion, including both cutting edges are coated with a refractory material.
