Patent number: 4895529Abstract: An environmentally sealed electrical connector is comprised of plug and receptacle housing members, each member having a rigid portion and a flexible portion secured to one end thereof, and at least one electrical terminal receiving passageway extending through the rigid and flexible portions. The flexible portions of the passageways are dimensioned to accommodate and sealingly engage a variety of wire sizes terminated to electrical terminals which are received and disposed in the passageways of the assembled member. The plug member may be further comprised of a second flexible section secured at the other end of the rigid section, the second flexible section providing a resilient sealing member for environmentally sealing the interface when the receptable and receptacle members are mated.Type: GrantFiled: May 13, 1986Date of Patent: January 23, 1990Assignee: AMP IncorporatedInventors: Anil C. Thakrar, John P. Redmond, Paul C. Schubert, Jr., Clair W. Snyder, Jr.

Patent number: 4828509Abstract: A modular connector including mating male and female components providing electrical and pressure connection between the two components. The electrical connections comprise a telephone-type connector retained within molded apertures which also provide for a fluid flow between the mating components. The connector housing includes redundant molded sealing elements, disposed on surfaces of the male component of differing dimensions. The connector also features an overlapping member of one of the connector components providing an umbrella-like shield of the confronting surfaces to provide an environmentally resistant, reliable pressure tight seal.Type: GrantFiled: October 27, 1987Date of Patent: May 9, 1989Assignee: Hewlett-Packard CompanyInventor: Gregory G. Patent number: 4820206Abstract: A screw connection device for electric conductors, is provided having at least one screw-clamping piece assembly. A structure integral with the insulating body of the terminal, partially surrounds the screw head and has at least one heel. This heel is applicable against an inclined face of the clamp and is adapted so as to hold the screw-clamp assembly in position against removal along the axis of the screw and against tipping towards the conductor insertion side.Type: GrantFiled: March 4, 1988Date of Patent: April 11, 1989Assignee: La Telemecanique ElectriqueInventors: Claude Jullien, Gerard Lerude, Raymond Llabres

Patent number: 4813889Abstract: An electrical receptacle terminal connector having visually inspectable components and an easily removable tab receptacle terminal inserted therein. The inserted receptacle terminal is retained by means of a moveable finger formed in the sidewall of the receptacle connector cavity which engages the female receptacle terminal and can easily be resiliently deflected outward to disengage from the receptacle terminal thereby enabling easy withdrawal of the receptacle terminal.Type: GrantFiled: October 13, 1987Date of Patent: March 21, 1989Assignee: Interlock CorporationInventors: Dewey F. Mobley, Janice M. Warren, Robert G. Peterson, Sr.

Patent number: 4813894Abstract: An electrical connector for mechanically securing and electrically interconnecting a pair of electrical cables. More particularly, the connector includes a C-member defining cable-receiving channels and having an arcuate portion in the web section extending between the channels to define an interior space in communication with an offset from the channels. Also included is a tapered drive member which is advanced into the space to engage the cables positioned in the channels to secure and electrically interconnect them.Type: GrantFiled: November 24, 1987Date of Patent: March 21, 1989Assignee: AMP IncorporatedInventor: James L. Mixon, Jr.

Patent number: 4802860Abstract: A surface mount type electrical connector comprising an insulating housing having a plurality of contact receiving apertures and a plurality of contacts, each having a front contacting section, an intermediate section, and a rear section. The rear section is movably placed in a channel of the insulating housing so as to not only protect from foreign objects making short circuit or deformation but also absorb all the applied stresses uniformly. The insulating housing is mounted with a pair of mounting members to prevent warping or separation from the printed circuit board.Type: GrantFiled: March 1, 1988Date of Patent: February 7, 1989Assignee: Hirose Electric Co., Ltd.Inventor: Shigeru Kikuta
