  • Patent number: 10183668
Abstract: A travel control apparatus comprises a first detector configured to detect an obstacle around a subject vehicle traveling in a first lane and a second detector configured to detect a second lane adjacent to the first lane. The travel control apparatus sets a first range at a target position for lane change in the second lane. The travel control apparatus detects a range in the second lane as a second range located at a side of the subject vehicle, and the obstacle is absent in the range in the second lane. The apparatus permits the subject vehicle to change lanes when the second range includes the first range. A method estimates whether another vehicle traveling in the second lane comes away from the subject vehicle and corrects to reduce the first range or increase the second range when the other vehicle is estimated to come away from the subject vehicle.

  • Patent number: 10144130
Abstract: Robot 1 includes an upper base body 10, and a control section 13 provided inside the upper base body 10. The control section 13 causes measurement section 205c to rotate in a left-right direction around yaw axis, by driving each drive section 205b of two LRFs 205. When passage width necessary for the robot 1 to pass through is W, the control section 13 causes each measurement section 205c to rotate in a range (W/2), by driving each drive section 205b of the two LRFs 205. LRF scanning speed/range calculation section 71 calculates rotation angle ?swing and a rotation speed Vswing of the measurement section 205c. The control section 13 drives the drive sections 205b so as to cause the measurement section 205c to rotate at the rotation angle ?swing and the rotation speed Vswing calculated by the LRF scanning speed/range calculation section 71.

  • Patent number: 10124787
Abstract: A rotation speed of an electric oil pump in the case where an accelerator operation amount falls within a predetermined range is controlled to a rotation speed lower than the rotation speed of the electric oil pump in the case where the accelerator operation amount falls outside the predetermined range. When the range outside the predetermined range of the accelerator operation amount is set to a range in which noise that occurs from a source other than the electric oil pump is large, noise that occurs from the electric oil pump is masked by the noise that occurs from a source other than the electric oil pump and becomes inconspicuous in this range even when the rotation speed of the electric oil pump increases.

  • Patent number: 10040475
Abstract: A malfunction detection device for a resolver detects malfunction in a resolver with accuracy and stability even if a value of a square sum is varied between inside and outside of a normal range. When the resolver is in malfunction, a sine signal and a cosine signal are read. It is determined whether a malfunction determination of the resolver is prohibited, or not, from read values of the sine signal and the cosine signal, or square values thereof. When it is determined that the malfunction determination of the resolver is prohibited, the count value is accumulated and incremented every time the test value falls outside a normal range. When the count value arrives at a given value or higher, it is determined that the resolver is in malfunction.

  • Patent number: 10030982
Abstract: Aspects described herein improve upon systems and methods for generalizing topographical map data relating to the road network for use at different scale levels. Existing systems collapse the two carriageways of a dual carriageway to a single centerline representing the dual carriageway by tracking along one way sections of carriageway and generating pairs of carriageways for collapse, but fall short of being able to compute complicated intersections. Further, existing methods place heavy demands on processing power and are not suitable for change only refreshes. Aspects described herein use graph theory to create a tracked network of stroke type objects representing the length of single carriageway sections of dual carriageways, and then successfully pairs them such that they can be collapsed to a center line and connected to the road network. The process reduces computation time, thereby speeding the rendering process for map imagery.

  • Patent number: 10025308
Abstract: Example systems and methods are disclosed for associating detected attributes with an actor. An example method may include receiving point cloud data for a first actor at a first location within the environment. The method may include associating sensor data from an additional sensor with the first actor based on the sensor data being representative of the first location. • Patent number: 9983010
Abstract: In connection with a voyage in which a ship visits several ports on a sailing route, when a user inputs a berthing period at each port on the sailing route on a screen in a computer for managing voyage information displayed by a terminal device, the terminal device specifies, with regard to each sectional sailing route between two neighboring ports on the sailing route, fuel consumption rate when the ship sails on the sectional sailing route based on a sailing speed determined by the input berthing periods and parameters of maritime weather conditions under which the ship sails on the sectional sailing route. The terminal device calculates fuel consumption required for sailing on each sectional sailing route and total fuel consumption required for sailing the entire sailing route using the specified fuel consumption rates.

  • Patent number: 9978279
Abstract: An advice target location at which a user had a predetermined emotion, for example, is determined based on location information, user biological information, and user transportation means information, which have been acquired by a terminal device (20) being used by the user. Advice information containing information indicating an advice presentation region set by a server device (50) is generated based on the advice target location. This advice information is supplied from the server device (50) to the terminal device (20), so that the terminal device (20) presents advice. With this, advice as to locations pedestrians find dangerous can be presented to drivers, and advice as to locations drivers find dangerous can be presented to pedestrians. Accordingly, accidents and the like can be prevented.

  • Patent number: 9976860
Abstract: Techniques are described for seamlessly transitioning from a map that displays out-of-doors elements to a map that displays indoor elements, in response to detecting a transition event. The transition event may be, for example, that a navigation system that is generating the out-of-doors map has moved to an indoors location. Techniques are also provided for navigating to a parking spot in a parking structure. Specifically, users may search for parking spots that satisfy specific criteria. The search for a parking spot that satisfies the criteria may be initiated at the time a trip begins, or may be automatically triggered by some event. For example, a search for available parking spots near a designated destination may be automatically initiated as a user comes within a predetermined distance of the designated destination.

  • Patent number: 9952055
Abstract: A predefined area is divided into a plurality of tiles, a respective one of the tiles of the area being determined as a starting tile and the respective remaining tiles being determined as reference tiles, and special nodes, being predefined that are arranged in the starting tile or in the respective reference tile. For the respective starting tile, a correction value is determined, in each case in relation to one of the reference tiles, such that a respective cost ratio is determined for each special node of the respective starting tile in relation to each special node of the reference tile on the basis of the edge costs of the connections that are situated between the respective special node of the starting tile and the respective special node of the reference tile. The cost ratio is also determined on the basis of a heuristic value of the respective special node of the starting tile in relation to the respective special node of the reference tile.
